NVC Filers - March 2013

Hello everybody,

my husband called NVC today and they told him our nvc case number, but said that the invoice number is still not generated... NVC confirmed my husbands email address and phone number, but did not asked anything about mine (beneficiary's).

I emailed DS-3032 form few minutes ago and got auto responce from them. I hope everything will be fine

Just because they didn't ask for the beneficiary's email address does NOT mean you can't provide it. Call back up asap (they're still open for 40 more minutes) and give over that email address. Also ask for the IIN again; it should be generated by now.

Do we wait for a few days - considering that they have to go through two large packets (AOS and Packet IV)? Like a week or two weeks etc?

I always suggest to start calling the day after they receive your packages

Okay so IV package should have arrived at NVC last Thursday and AOS package arrived Monday. NVC are saying they haven't been reviewed and it could take up to 20 business days for that to happen. Is this one of their 'we're going to give you a number in the hope you don't call back till then' things or is that how long it usually takes for the packages to be reviewed?

It's the former. Those operators always make up ridiculous time frames, I think in part to both cover their a$$es in case it takes longer as well as trying to deter people from calling. But we're VJers... we call every day

Hi all, I called the NVC on 3-11 and was given the case number, IIN, and BIN for my wife's petition. I asked if I could give them the beneficiary's email address, but the operator said she could not make any changes to the application at this time. On 3-11, I sent in the OPTIN email and on 3-12, I sent in the DS-261 (it showed as available when I logged in). Do I need to call the NVC and give them the beneficiary's email address, or are the OPTIN email and DS-261 enough? Also, I have not received confirmation of the OPTIN email (other than an Auto Response that basically said your email has been received), should I expect one?

Call NVC up asap and give over the beneficiary's email address. You have 35 minutes before they close. Go go go.

Yes, you should get a reply back to the optin email. But, depending when they get to it (if it's before you add the email address), it may get rejected. Not sure though.

Separate emails for all. Unfortunately, you can't really combine things like this.

DS-3032 Question

I am the USC, I am living outside the US with my wife. If my wife says I am her choice of agent, it will not matter because all is done through e-mail anyway? Or should she name a friend in the US to recieve mail for us so we will not have to wait for things to arrive overseas?

Yup, as long as they have both email addresses, then all correspondence is sent by email. So, she can elect you as agent with no problems!

Okay I'm confused now. When initially called NVC I was told they received it March 8th. Then when I called two more times they told me March 4th. Now I just called NVC and he told March 8th again. What to believe????

I've noticed a lot of people tend to get 2+ dates from various operators of when NVC received the case. My thinking is that there may be two different time ticks and one will be referring to one, while another operator is referring to another. Just my thoughts though, not too sure...
