well just wanted to say congratulations to those who have their case completed and who are in the process of completion and hope all of you will be reunited with your love ones soon. It sure is a long and hard process, but at the end we all get to be with our family the most important things I can think of really. God bless. In the mean time I'm still trying to figure what's going on with my case. Don't know what's up with all the delay. I'm sure it's being p  rocessed. Have a nice day.

I don't think it's true that they only schedule interviews second week. Apparently they do em all month long! Fingers crossed! You could be lucky! :D

Cat

Good luck on your call this morning :)

And it's still possible to get an April interview, all depending on the workload at your embassy. And remember, interviews aren't just scheduled during the second week. Refer to the FAQ, there's something about this near the end ;)

While I know it to be true in my brain, I hoped to get it done in the second week just so I was for sure going to get an interview date for April.

I was thinking after case complete to have my husband call the Auckland consulate. They are pretty nice and maybe they can help get him an interview date?

I wish our time lines had "Case complete" dates. I tried to compare other Kiwis to see when they got their interview dates. Impossible to know unless I go to each persons profile to see their sig (if they have one).

Anywho.. just called and, yep, AOS accepted. The other lady is a doof. Thats definitely why I got the false checklist.

Although at first shes like "We havent received your response to that checklist yet.." "Yes you have, March 7th Ive been told" "Oh wait hold on, yeah all were waiting for is the IV checklist.." Whoop! That got there Tuesday. Cmoonnn case complete!

Wait until after you get an interview date, your case has been shipped, and the embassy receives your case. Then you can contact the embassy and request a sooner date. Until they receive your case, the embassy can't help with case-specific inquiries as they have no idea who you are.

And the time lines do have case complete dates. It's the second one down from 'pay IV bill'.

And case complete coming up ;)

Um, I didn't see any dire warnings, just advice. There was another member on her two weeks ago, I think aprice, who sent in their IV packet before the fee showed up as paid and unfortunately the fee didn't show as paid for another 8 days so the package got to NVC before the fee showed as paid. They now have a case complete. So it is possible to do, just not recommended and it's probably not recommended b/c the practice hasn't been tested enough in order to be able to say "yes, do this, you'll absolutely 100% be fine".

Close, no case complete. :hehe: BUT the operator at the NVC said its fine. And Saylinn clarified. As long as you have the front cover sheet with the barcode, send away.

Oh, that's what you meant, sorry blush.gif For that, I'd recommend just opening all the timelines in separate tabs in your browser. Start a spreadsheet up with important time ticks: case complete, interview date assigned, and interview date. This is EXACTLY what I did for Canada to get as estimate when I was going through the NVC process.

You can check out the average time in NVC (once a case number is assigned) by looking at the spreadsheet I put together. It's linked both in my signature and on the first post.

And they probably won't give you the IIN unless you request for it.

Yes, they'll send the AOS fee. Whether that's by email or snail mail is up to you (whether you give over the email addresses or not).

By 4 packet do you mean the IV (Immigrant Visa) packet? Package 4 is sent by the NVC and is your interview letter. The IV in IV package isn't the roman numeral 4 if that's what you're thinking...

But to answer your question: no. The AOS and IV are two separate tracks and have NOTHING to do with one another (except that both need to be completed before the case is closed).

I know you're super busy helping everyone out here, but just so you know, you can update me in your spreadsheet when you get a chance since I got my case completed on the 5th! blush.gif

Updated! Thanks for the reminder. While reading updates here in this thread, I'm so focused on responding that I forget to update the spreadsheet headbonk.gif I tend to do a massive update though usually once a month or so, once I have a free moment from school and work. But if someone reminds me to update their line, I do it right away :)
