I think am gonna go crazy! :( I called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2, he said that my case was not even shipped and I should wait ANOTHER month for it to get there!! I told him can you please submit an info inquiry or something he said no, I have to wait. I am so mad at the moment. I got approved on the 15th of Feb, and FINALLY on March 6th, I see a status change saying it was shipped! and then I call my congressman, email NVC TWICE, and call rude USCIS costumer representative, and still nothing!? I am pregnant and all alone here and I couldn't even walk to the car :crying: I really need my husband and no one is trying to help me out at USCIS or NVC! This is the most desperate thing I have been thru

So sorry! I completely understand. What does it say on your NOA2? Does it say that it has been forwarded? I have a feeling that your package is already at NVC. They're just been really slow lately. Just stay positive. This part of the stage is tough.

Oops! blush.gif

Don't need to nag, but it's a good idea to know what the status is on it, so you know where they are with it (received, accepted, or added to the case).

You can mail it whatever way you want. Most people overnight it though, but that's just so it gets there the fastest possible. And you can mail it through whomever (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc).

Oh I did not know that. Are you sure we can FedEx it - I would prefer FedEx or UPS since it's probably faster.

All of the guides here always mention USPS Express Mails - so I am a little worried about using FedEx but if people here have used FedEx or UPS, that would be great.

I just called the NVC for the 3 rd time today . They now have our file. Yaayyy

But I am starting to think the theory floating around about waiting for approved files from local offices and sending in batches my be closer to the truth. As my file never left the NBC but took forever to get to the NVC. And arrived at the same time as other who were approved about the same time from local offices.

Congrats !!!

Yup, people have sent it through all carriers! How do you think people abroad send packages? There's no USPS in other countries :P

Saylin, I have a question for you :) I think I might have asked it before, but I really can't settle for a decision.

Okay, so I am about to request an expedite due to medical conditions as soon as my case # is assigned. I have some questions about that. If the embassy approves it, all my papers will be sent to the embassy right? okay, will we bring all the papers to the interview or will they ask for packet 3, packet 4, or is that thru DCF only? Also, if we bring everything on the interview date, when is the interview decided? How are we notified? Does the embassy contact the petitioner or the beneficiary? I think I am mixing between DCF and expediting right? Can you please help me out by clarifying the general process. I did so many research about it, but I am still confused.

Thanks for your help :)

Does the DS-230 (part of IV package) need to be an original? Can I send a photocopy to NVC and later have my spouse bring the original to the embassy interview?

If I understand your question right, the signature on DS-230 Part I has to be original. Also, the civil documents that are part of IV packages needs to be original or certified copied issued by the same authority that issued original.

Do you mean the form DS-230 (Part I and Part II)? You cannot send a photocopy of DS-230 because it has to have original signature and date on it (for Part I).

Ive used both FedEx Overnight and USPS Overnight. They work the same but USPS is half the price.

Actually. They dont work quite the same because I think USPS has an earlier Express cut off time than FedEx but thats it.

That's true.

So one more question. The two packets go separately the same address?

It's definitely good because at least I can save the money on sending the packets separately and looks like it worked for you. But I am just wondering if is an accepted practice.

I have three envelopes right now

Packet IV - one envelope with all the originals and one envelope with all the photocopies

AOS - one envelope with the related documents.

If I were to send both the packets together then I can put the original and photocopy set in one envelope (I hope it doesn't get too confusing for them)
