There's got to be a reason for all of these delays. Some still waiting for a case number and some NVC don't even know where their files is. Has National Benefit Center (NBC) adjudicate 1-130 petition before? If not that explains why the field offices and NBC process isn't smooth sailing after our petitions has been approved. No one really have a protocol of what to do. I understand the snow day that they didn't work and probably have back logs because of it. Wow what a difference a day makes. But don't you think we shouldn't have to call NVC everyday just to see what's going on. I understand those who need to talk to NVC operator for questions that are not easily answer, but most could be answer in a minute. they really need to update stuff online and have us check stuff online, we can do that 24hrs a day. Save us a lot of time and theirs. Instead of calling and be on hold for 45 mins. Update stuff online would make it more easier and efficient.

In the past, only CSC and VSC would adjudicate I-130 petitions. But, I'm guessing due to the backlog, they had to spread the petitions out, so they sent them to NBC along with local offices. Unfortunately, they're not used to dealing with these sort of cases, which I'm assuming is causing the delay between approving the I-130s and actually sending them out.

I would have thought by now though they would have gotten used to it, but apparently it's going to take awhile blink.gif

And yes, I'm totally with you that there should be a proper NVC online checker. It would decrease the number of calls tremendously, if (and it's a big if) the site is as up to date as if one called. If it takes them a week or so to update the status online, then for some, it wouldn't be enough. It has to be in real-time. But, that's just my opinion laughing.gif

Thanks Saylin. We got the ds-261 filled out and completed on the website and i followed the electronic opt in process as advised. Everything seems to be good now, just confusing on what to fill out and what not to. All i do now is wait for the AOS to show paid and send the packet with the receipt and cover letter i got from the payment site? After that or while this is happening Pay the IV package fee's and wait to recieve the packet, once it is recieved fill out and send back... wait for the case to be complete and eventually get an appointment date in Juarez...? Oh and Does the council in Juarez have a list i can see now on who is authorized for the medical examination? Thanks!

Yes, once the AOS shows as paid, then you can email the AOS package. And yes, once the IV bill shows as paid, you can email the supporting documents and then fill out the DS-260 online.

Once your case is complete, it's put into queue for an interview date to be scheduled.

Choose your embassy from this drop-down list for medical information: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html

I check my mom's case online, this is what it pops up:

U.S. Department of State

IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION

Ready

Immigrant Visa Case Number: MNL2013xxxxxx 01 MNL

Case Creation Date: 05-Feb-2013

Status Updated Date: 12-Mar-2013

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions.

Can't wait to call! Thanks Saylin & everybody for unending guidance.. Good luck on out journey!

Good luck once you call!!!

Good morning

I am bit confused. I received the case # yesterday but they had wrong email address of petitioner in the system, we called again yesterday and today but operators keep saying they cannot update the case becaus it's locked. They cannot even add beneficiary's email address into the system.

Has this happened to anyone? Can I still email the DS3032 email or should I wait till they update our case?

I'm assuming they can't enter anything because they're still inputting information. It locks operators out from entering any information. I would suggest calling every few hours, so maybe two or three more times today. It should be "unlocked" by the end of the day. And you want that email to be fixed pronto, as well as adding the beneficiary, so don't be lax about this.

Hold off emailing the DS-3032 until both (correct) email addresses are attached to the case file.

Yay my case was received by NVC last week. The guy couldn't give me an exact date (they answered RIGHT away.. I was startled, lol) but I'm happy it's there. He said it takes 4-6 weeks right now to get the case into the system so to call once a week.

I used google voice to call so it was free. Thanks Saylin for that bit of advice. :D

Yay, great news!

And you're welcome ;) Google Voice saved me quite a bunch of money laughing.gif

Our OPTIN e-mails were accepted today :)

Still no invoice for IV Fees showing or even listed.

I guess I’m going to have to go to the gym since I don’t have any forms to fill out or appointments to make.

I think am gonna go crazy! :( I called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2, he said that my case was not even shipped and I should wait ANOTHER month for it to get there!! Don't need to nag, but it's a good idea to know what the status is on it, so you know where they are with it (received, accepted, or added to the case).

I got done with both the packets and am planning to send it out today.

I marked the case number in a post it on all the pages for Packet IV

Just to confirm, we can only send USPS Express Delivery right?

You can mail it whatever way you want. Most people overnight it though, but that's just so it gets there the fastest possible. And you can mail it through whomever (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc).
