For passport photos, this is my recommendation: put the two photos in a small Ziploc bag (with the beneficiary's full name, birth date, and case number on the back of both), and then staple the bag to a plain white paper. Might be a good idea to then write the case number on the paper as well.

Thanks Sayline, I like the idea of attaching envelop or zip lock bag to white paper that you and ImmigrationReform has recommended, that's pretty clever. I did write the name, dob, and case # on both photos. I just wanted to know the best way to package them so it doesn't accidentally fall off from package or something like that.

Yeah, putting them in a ziploc bag or small envelope is a lot better than nothing at all. Then, to prevent that small bag or envelope from being lost, that's why I recommend stapling that then to a paper. It also lets you put the photos in order along with the other documents instead of just having this free-floating bag. Helps it from getting lost ;)

There's got to be a reason for all of these delays. Some still waiting for a case number and some NVC don't even know where their files is. Has National Benefit Center (NBC) adjudicate 1-130 petition before? If not that explains why the field offices and NBC process isn't smooth sailing after our petitions has been approved. No one really have a protocol of what to do. I understand the snow day that they didn't work and probably have back logs because of it. Wow what a difference a day makes. But don't you think we shouldn't have to call NVC everyday just to see what's going on. I understand those who need to talk to NVC operator for questions that are not easily answer, but most could be answer in a minute. they really need to update stuff online and have us check stuff online, we can do that 24hrs a day. Save us a lot of time and theirs. Instead of calling and be on hold for 45 mins. Update stuff online would make it more easier and efficient.

Thanks Saylin. We got the ds-261 filled out and completed on the website and i followed the electronic opt in process as advised. Everything seems to be good now, just confusing on what to fill out and what not to. All i do now is wait for the AOS to show paid and send the packet with the receipt and cover letter i got from the payment site? After that or while this is happening Pay the IV package fee's and wait to recieve the packet, once it is recieved fill out and send back... wait for the case to be complete and eventually get an appointment date in Juarez...? Oh and Does the council in Juarez have a list i can see now on who is authorized for the medical examination? Thanks!

Yup, you ONLY fill out the DS-261. Ignore the DS-3032 as you do not fill that out in your case. The same applies to the DS-230/DS-260. You fill out the DS-260 online and ignore the paper DS-230.

Yes, the optin is the same. I have a sample email format in the wiki.

Congrats! kicking.gif

Thanks again Saylin - I will put the case number on every page on the I-864 packet.

I was reading Jame's shortcuts, and he too says to put case number on every page on the I-864 but he does not mention anything about adding case number on all the pages of the DS-230 packet? Should I do that too?

And one more question, I have marriage certificate (from the registrar's office) that I am sending the original of. Should I also send the religious marriage document?

Yes put the case number on your DS-230 pages too and documents. There was a suggestion to use stickies, if you have them, instead of writing on your original documents. Documents from the government offices are primary evidence. Religious document would be secondary evidence. Just send primary unless it makes you feel more comfortable sending both. Remember to ask for your original documents back at the interview.

Good morning

I am bit confused. I received the case # yesterday but they had wrong email address of petitioner in the system, we called again yesterday and today but operators keep saying they cannot update the case becaus it's locked. They cannot even add beneficiary's email address into the system.

Has this happened to anyone? Can I still email the DS3032 email or should I wait till they update our case?

Yay my case was received by NVC last week. The guy couldn't give me an exact date (they answered RIGHT away.. I was startled, lol) but I'm happy it's there. He said it takes 4-6 weeks right now to get the case into the system so to call once a week.

I used google voice to call so it was free. Thanks Saylin for that bit of advice. :D

Same thing happened to me. You are being more efficient than the system that's all. Give them a few hours and call back to attach the email addresses. Congrats on your case number.
