okay im confused guys i need your help  how long did it take for the nvc to give you a case number?? and once they assign a number can you do the AOS right away because i payed somebody to do all this immigration paper work and they told me to wait until they send me the AOS packet and all other documents doesn't that take longer?

well, I guess it depends on what they are calling the AOS Packet.

If the AOS FEE BILL (Via Email) that's one thing, sent off within a few days after the Petitioner contacts NVC and gets the casefile #.

If'n 'they' mean the entire blank I-864 with instructions and a barcode - oh vey ! To wait, alas, gets you into postal processing mode, and it's about 3 months for each thing (AOS, IV) and that's gonna suck.

I pray, of you, to get back to Post #1 and find the LingChe link, when logged in from a PC. Handphones suck for VJ web-browsing, you miss about 80 percent of important stuff !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

All right, things are moving, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

We sent AOS and IV together and because we're filling from abraod, intend to qualify on assets (we had significantly more than the min. amount required).

Today we received this checklist.

Is that what they usually send?

Will they wait for us in case we'd like to submit more evidence (we don't though, we won't add a co-sponsor, at least not now) or will they start scheduling the interview now?

Thank you!

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that the Affidavit of Support information you have provided does not appear to meet the minimum income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. In order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) for a/another Joint Sponsor to the National Visa Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants.

I suppose what I'd do is review my 864 to triple check that everything was filled out correctly and that any bank statements, etc were sent with the packet. Then, I'd email with a subject line of Supervisor Review AOS - Case Number. In the body of the email I'd explain that you received a checklist indicating that you did not meet the minimum income requirement, but had also documented assets and provided documentation. Request additional review of the evidence.

I used income only. I've seen people using assets stating that it's 300% of the income requirement, but this page http://www.***removed***/affidavit-of-support/using-assets-meet-income-requirements.html indicates 500% as well as additional evidence to include.

It took my IV fee longer to be invoiced and the payment processed than the AOS fee which was just a day or so.

Hi,

What they are saying is that they will be ready to attach the DS-3032 after you get that email. But also consider that your email will not be seen for a few days while it waits in queue and it also takes a few days for you to get the email from NVS. The members here say there is no harm done sending it now even if it gets rejected.

The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to the Affidavit of Support. I believe that's the "checklist" people receive who are qualifying on assets. It's ultimately up to the embassy/consulate to decide if those assets meet their guidelines. Be prepared that you may be requested to get a joint sponsor at your interview.

Your NOA2 is the same as mine. Hopefully that's good news because I just got off the phone with the NVC and they still have not issued us a case # yet. I got a harpy rep today who told me in an irritable voice, "you have to wait 10-15 business days, that's BUSINESS days" Yeah I get it lady. blink.gif Advice, don't call close to quittin time rofl.gif

Yeah I called at around 8:30pm, took 45 minutes, but the guy was nice and patient as he confirmed the email addresses and other details, and while I read all the numbers back. I was walking around the house with that annoying hold music playing!

Yeah, hopefully tomorrow is your day! good.gif

The hold music isn't what irritates me, it's that guy's voice that repeats "all of our representatives are busy assisting other callers.....etc. The rest of the recording is a low volume and then that guy's voice comes on and screams in your ear headbonk.gif

I also see that the NVC received your case a few days earlier than mine. I'm hoping we get a number by the end of the week! We're almost at 30 days from NOA2 date mad.gif

I seemed to get the nicest people when it was really late at NVC. Like 11pm.

Maybe they were looking forward to going home and hitting the hay.

Usually I get nice reps too, but I've been mostly calling in the morning/afternoon. I find the NVC reps much friendlier and more personable overall than the folks over at the USCIS.

This NVC rep today told me to wait another 2 weeks. I haven't seen anyone take that long to receive a case number. That would make 6-7 weeks for us from NOA2 date blink.gif

Yep, and that low voice that says that we'll answer your call momentarily, 45 mins to an hour is a lot more than a moment. mad.gif I just wish they would re-instate the Automated Voice Recording, would save so many people so much time, and NVC operators a lot of headaches! I think I make too much sense for Govt work sometimes! laughing.gif

Yeah, I was SURE we'd get our case# this week, because I refused to accept it would get to being a month since NOA2! Don't worry, soon!
