I just called the NVC for the 3 rd time today . They now have our file. Yaayyy

But I am starting to think the theory floating around about waiting for approved files from local offices and sending in batches my be closer to the truth. As my file never left the NBC but took forever to get to the NVC. And arrived at the same time as other who were approved about the same time from local offices.

However, the operator could not accept the email address of petitioner for some reason. Plus, they've mistyped the email address of petitioner in the system. So we'll call back to correct it later today

You know we have the same approval date, and my file just got to the NVC today too. At least that's one step closer. good luck

I decided to call again after Jackie and Alex posted they were finally at the NVC. And I am soooo relieved. I can't wait to tell my husband but this stupid time change is messing up our schedule. But at least now I can actually think about packing to go visit him. And maybe I will have a number when I get back but I doubt it.

Hi Saylin,

I just want to confirm something. My husband and I will be jointly sponsoring my mother-in-law (with me being household member). Since we've not yet filed 2012 tax returns, for questions on forms I-864 (question 24b) and I-864A (question 10), I've put the total income for year 2009, 2010, and 2011. For current income, we've put our current income. However, current income is not same as 2012 income (because my husband did some random contract work that has unpredictable income). So my questions are,

1. I don't need to mention total 2012 income anywhere on form I-864 and I-864A, right?

2. I still need to send our w2, and 1099 for 2012 with our AOS package, right?

I just want to make sure I am filling in proper #s.

Here's a quick question:

I just got off the phone with Bailey from NVC. She informed me that they had finished reviewing our IV package and that as soon as we responded to the checklist, we'd have a case closure. I asked what the checklist was for. She responded that they were waiting for our Irish police certificate, which we included in the packet. I said so, and even gave her the name of the Superintendent that signed off on it. She named the certificate (the police in Ireland are called the Garda, so it's a Garda certificate) and I told her that yes, that was it. She put a note on it for the supervisor to look at, showing that a Garda certificate IS a police certificate. Bailey then freaked me out completely by saying that it's going to take another 15 business days for the supervisor to review that packet again. Is that right?! They have everything there! So pissed off right now!

I am so angry right now! What kind of moron doesn't clue in to the fact that a certificate (generated in Ireland, with an Irish address, stamped FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMMIGRATION TO THE UNITED STATES) might be a police cert? I can just see some idiot picking up that sheet of paper, with the words NO RECORDS FOUND under the Arrests and Convictions section, thinking, "Well, clearly THIS isn't a police certificate! It doesn't say POLICE on it!". F*cking tw*t. If it takes 15 business days to review that, I am seriously going to go apesh*t on somebody.
