Please, let me know the following answer for a question.

What are the advantages and/or disadvantages of sending IV packet and AOS packet together?

I repeat from above:

Advantage of sending them separately: the AOS is reviewed quicker (than sending it with the IV package, which is typically 1-2+ weeks later), so "more" time to respond to checklists, if there are any.

Advantage of sending them together: you save on postage.

That's all I've seen as far as advantages for both.

Quick question.. I was wondering if someone can confirm this. I just callled the uscis to see if my case was transfered out to the NVC and when and the rep told me well it hasn't been 30 days yet, since Feb only has 28 days. My I-130 got approved on Feb 7,2013.

Does NVC physically have your case? My case is not even in their physical possession. But this delay is seriously ridiculous.

NVC said they have my case in their possession and was delivered on the 13th, but that doesn't make me feel secure until a case number is assigned. I'm as mad at them as you are for the long wait. I guess I need to calm myself down by having a slice of strawberry cream cake and singing "why do fools fall in love, oh why do we fall in love" in my room, and not in public of course. They would think I'm nuts.

For past few days, when my husband has called, they said the case was received on 22nd of Feb. Today, the operator told him that the case was received on 18th Feb and adjucted(??? could hear the word properly) on 22nd. Does this sound familiar to anyone? We don't yet have case # but I am just curious what these two dates mean.

Try to call NVC and see if they've received your case. We initially called USCIS a week after our petition was approved and they kept telling us that it has not been shipped or it takes 30 days, blah blah blah. We got frustrated and finally called NVC, they said they had received the case the prior week.

But also make sure to read thoroughly your NOA2 and what it says exactly.

When NVC research looked at my NOA2 they said your wife is waiting for adjustment of status when I never filed for that and she is abroad. That's why I think USCIS never sent my file to NVC...

I am also waiting for the IV bill to show paid...... I hate waiting too

I sent it out last week beofre it was marked paid and I just wanted to see it say paid so I oculd feel like progress was being made on my case

I believe your husband and my wife will have the same interview date. because we sent IV on the same day and we are waiting for case complete :0

I had read in the MENA forum that they didn't allow the spouses into the consulate. Have you heard this or read anything? I would like to be there, but if historically they don't let spouses in, I don't know that I can justify the trip.
