I was told my file shipped 2/1. Then I opened a e-request and the shipped date changed to the e-request date. In reality, it was neither. Don't believe them. Call again and have them open a e-request. If one says no, call again and have the second one open it. It took me three times before I got one. I'm due a response by tomorrow. I've called earlier this week and have been told to wait until tomorrow before they can share anything.

Yes never believe them!

USCIS sent me a paper letter saying clearly (selected one option among many) that my case was sent to NVC on 1/24 and they actually did it only on 2/22 (after too many calls and a congressman support) and it reached NVC on 3/5...

I am trying to use that as an expedite reason but I was told, little chances...

If they made that error, they should have just kept it IMO. I would definitely request the expedite. Our request to have it expeditiously processed was granted after our own snafu with shipping it to the wrong place. Mind you that was with the embassy and USCIS directly, but I think the NVC will be sympathetic.

Was it a field office that shipped it off to the embassy?

Yugo, can you pls tell me who were you calling and how were you able to get your congressman involved? I got the Noa2 dated Feb 7 and NVC has no case. :(

Yugo, can you pls tell me who were you calling and how were you able to get your congressman involved? I got the Noa2 dated Feb 7 and NVC has no case. :(

Go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

and look for your congressman using your zip code.

Then you will get a contact link and usually they have immigration field, tell your story and they will contact you.

Mine is very responsive.

Hey all,

I know this is covered in post 1... but...

I am getting ready to send the AOS packet and I want to TRIPLE DOUBLE check I am doing this right.

This is what I am planning to send. Does this sound ok?

1. Bar-coded cover sheet

2. Completed and signed form I-864 by the petitioner

3. IRS tax transcripts for the last three years

4. Petitioner's employment letter

5. Petitioner's pay stubs for the current year

Case is still not at the NVC. I long does it take to mail it out??

Mine got to NVC in a week from NOA2. But not sure if that's an average timeframe. Some people are seeing delays in their case getting from USCIS to NVC.

I'd say that's a pretty fair timeframe. I got my NOA2 on Wednesday and NVC had my case by the following Monday. You're right, though, lately there seems to be a lot of problems with cases getting shipped from USCIS to NVC. Maybe this is due to the field offices? My case was processed and approved at CSC. Maybe the main service centers have their business a little more organized than the field offices. Just a theory.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.
