I sent the SUPERVISOR REVIEW email this morning and I just got a reply!

Does it mean that my DS-261 has been reviewed?

We received the principal applicant's DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-261

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Saylin, I got the IE already but no invoice yet.. :crying:

my mom got the letter from NVC last feb.21 stating that they received the choice of agent. Do you think I need to write also for supervisor review? if it is, how will that works?

DenMar_S :) I have sent today an email asking about my DS-261 form if it was reviewed or not and I got a reply just a few hours later. I think for me it did work, I went to CEAC website and my name has gone from IV Fee, so I wanna think that they will invoice SOON!

I followed the instructions from FAQ (the 2nd post of this thread) to send the e-mail. Maybe give it a try? ;)

BTW THANKS SAYLIN! Without your FAQ and useful info I would be still wondering what to do? THANKS x 100000000000000000

Oof, if only we'd had this this morning! The Mister went to the Montreal consulate for his interview and was DENIED due to lack of evidence establishing domicile in the US (never mind I showed bank records, voter registration, valid license, letters from his work/my school indicating end dates, proof of ownership of a HOUSE in the States! :ranting: Oy...oy oy oy...) I had no idea they took this domicile thing so seriously, otherwise I would have really gone all out to make sure we had our bases covered. Fingers crossed we get it right next time!

This is an area I'm really worried about too since my husband has lived in Canada all his life until this past January. To clarify, your husband brought all those documents with him to the interview and was still denied? Or you had these documents, but he did not bring them to the interview? If you don't mind me asking, are you (the USC) living in Canada still? Thanks!

Yes, I'm the USC. I actually just made a post about our case (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/417122-further-proof-of-domicile/)

It kind of better explains our situation and what we did. It really does seem like it's a case-by-case thing, but if if you guys read through some of the threads, you might be able to get an idea of how you can avoid our fate! (lol, I know, I'm being a bit dramatic.... I'm still pissed!)

FWIW, my husband said it seemed as though they had already known they were going to deny us on these grounds before he even showed up, but I guess we can't exactly prove that. I'd recommend going above and beyond what you think you have to do to establish domicile because they obviously accepted our initial evidence (as in, they didn't ask for more proof) but still turned us away in the end!

February 5th they sent a request for more evidences. Turns out they only wanted our wedding certificate. We sent it and they received it on February 19th. So far we haven't heard anything else. We're past 8 months and still no approval yet.

I lost all my words...

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state..../info_3904.html

Well, it says "received", nothing about being reviewed. But, if it was in reply to the supervisor email, then I'm sure the bill will be invoiced soon as they usually get $h!t done a lot faster than regular workers.

DenMar_S :) I have sent today an email asking about my DS-261 form if it was reviewed or not and I got a reply just a few hours later. I think for me it did work, I went to CEAC website and my name has gone from IV Fee, so I wanna think that they will invoice SOON!

Yay, glad it worked out. Definitely seems like the IV bill is soon to be invoiced!

And you're very welcome! ^_^ That's why I'm still here, to help people out so they can fly by this process as fast as possible!

Yes, I'm the USC. I actually just made a post about our case (http://www.visajourn...of-of-domicile/)

It kind of better explains our situation and what we did. It really does seem like it's a case-by-case thing, but if if you guys read through some of the threads, you might be able to get an idea of how you can avoid our fate! (lol, I know, I'm being a bit dramatic.... I'm still pissed!)

Yes, very frequently, officers make their mind up on the decision of the case before the interview even takes place. Honestly, for a lot of places (like Montreal), the interview is merely a formality.

I have to ask, did you submit proof of domicile in the AOS package?

I'm assuming they told you to submit more proof by mail, right? Or did you get a second interview assigned? Regardless, I suggest looking at the second post in this thread. There's a question on proof of domicile with a LONG list of ideas. Also, read that entire thread I linked to earlier. I know it's like 20 pages long, but I'm sure you're going to find something useful in there as well. And hopefully people reply to your thread to give you some additional ideas. You might have to move to the US pronto, before your husband, so you can start re-establishing yourself, thus generating even more proof.
