I see! I guess I jumped the gun! I sent them an email about the problem. I should wait a bit longer then. Is there a way to find out when the embassy receives the case?

Thanks as always Saylin!

NVC typically sends the case abroad the day after the interview is scheduled. But call NVC to know when they sent it out. It then typically takes a few days to be received in the embassy/consulate abroad. You can call DOS and they'll be able to tell you when it's arrived. Their number is on the first post.

To be honest, I didn't know the logic behind waiting until after the interview is scheduled until I read Saylin's post now :bonk:

Oh Oh, here I go worrying about one more thing, as if I didn't have enough on my hands already

I know that Saylin is always logical but which post are yo referring to? Why is this cause for worry? I agree, we have enough to worry about so we don't need a new one!

Registering for courier services, Saylin always says to wait until after an interview date is scheduled

True! And I wish I had read this advise before. But the reason for waiting ... what's the reason?

I guess it's a moot point now, since we both established an account. I just called NVC and found out that my case was sent to the embassy TODAY!headbonk.gif

Well, the great Saylin just assured me that there is nothing to worry about. You will be fine if you have already registered and have a confirmation number. I'm gonna let it go too

I suggest waiting until after the interview date is scheduled AND after the case has arrived at the embassy/consulate is in case, for some weird reason, the whole signing up for courier services isn't registered properly as the embassy/consulate doesn't know about you until after they get your case. But it's clear with people signing up ahead of time that they have this working, so as long as you have a case number, you can sign up. Just personally, I would wait. I only signed up myself about 2 weeks before my interview, if I recall correctly.

*Saylin, lower case

And there's a question/answer about this on post 2. I'd recommend sending it again, just like Roosha suggested.

Saylin,

I did send the DS-3032 as an email again with "Supervisor Review" in the subject line. I got the same response as before:

"We are unable to add third party contact information to the case record at this time…"

Two responses in one day, via email. Very fast and efficient. I am thinking we all should let a day or two pass before sending in DS-3032 email using "Supervisor Review". Maybe send it in without "Supervisor Review" in the subject line first as that will put it in the three or four day email queue. Reason being "Supervisor Review" seems to be the only avenue for people who are seriously delayed. Unnecessarily flooding NVC agents we are further delaying others who may have serious issues with lost or very late paperwork, etc.. I just got our case number and I sent in the DS-3032 - I almost felt guilty taking up their time considering the workload they must have. If they can't do anything why encumber them with more work. Still, after hearing two agents tell me to wait 30-45 days for it to come in the mail to our mountain in Nepal - I feel a little less guilty. whistling.gif

I also wanted to try out my Shiny New NVC case number on the DOS website. This is what I found. The AOS was listed under my name as "Not Invoiced" and while there was a spot for the IV info too, my wife's name was not there and neither was there a checkbox or invoice status of any kind - that must happen once/after the DS-3032 is generated. Later in the day I tried to login to the DOS website and I got the infamous "RED BOX". I can only guess our case is being updated and we aren't allowed access during that process.

So, Saylin what do you think? Lessons learned? Don't send an email the same day you get your case number using "Supervisor Review" you will only be rejected and take time away from other cases and that slows us all down. Wait at least a day or until your DOS webpage shows the beneficiary's name under IV? You have far more experience. I defer.
