now i think 2 weeks is really impossible :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

So you mean, our lawyer will be the one who will receive instructions from NVC and then possibly forward it to me? and will pay the bill? but of course we have to pay her...

If you give both email addresses to an operator when a case number is assigned, then you should all receive correspondence by email. But, you'll need to speak with your lawyer about this and not us as they may have their own protocols about dealing with NVC (ie: I've seen cases where lawyers do NOT want the petitioner or beneficiary contacting NVC under any circumstances).

Any chance he'd be willing to move right away and just VISIT his family a few months later for Ramadan?

Or at the Dr Office :) lol

Saylin - Ramadan is most of July this year so I guess it would be cheaper for us to wait til August. I understand his reasoning but our 3 year anniversary is July 12 and we have been apart for so long. But after that I have forever so I guess I can wait :)

Hello Saylin and other VJ friends,

My wife is scheduled to have her interview in Abu Dhabi. When I emailed the embassy to ask them about the list of panel of Physicians for the interview they sent me the panel but also included the following message:

** Important Change: All visa applicants MUST visit the website www.usvisa-info.com to create an account and register for courier delivery service BEFORE their interview. All "K" fiancée visa applicants may pay online via a credit card at the time they register for courier services, or they may pay, in cash only, in the Embassy on the day of their interview. All other Immigrant Visa fees, including DV (Visa Lottery) fees, can be paid in cash at the Embassy on the day of their interview. **

So I went to the link and created an account for my wife. However, there was no choice of "courier delivery service"! Also, and this causes me much stress, when I go to either edit her information or do any of the following:

What would you like to do?

I get to a point where I have to enter our Case number and when I enter the case number the system does not recognize it!! I have heard that we have to complete this process and my wife bring a print out to the interview. What should I do?

Ahh, I see. Yeah, it'd obviously be cheaper to stay, but the distance and more time is the bad part. Any chance you can go over and visit for the last month while he's there? You can then help him move too!

Canada has to sign up through that website as well. I typically suggest people to wait until AFTER an interview date has been assigned and the case has arrived at the embassy/consulate. Although, I have seen people sign up earlier, it'd personally make me a little nervous, in case something goes wonky as the embassy doesn't know about your case yet.

Question for March NVC filers, I plan to send original certificates and documents. However, they are very delicate documents, some of them 30+ years old and odd sizes. I am wondering if I can protect these certificate by using clear sheet protector. What I would like to do is, put one original document in one sheet protector. I am not sure if NVC will have issue with this. How did you guys sent your original documents?

Any chance you can get certified copies? That's what I sent. If you can't get certified copies, then yes, putting them in sheet protectors might be a good idea.

I was advised by fellow Indian VJ members to send originals instead of certified copy. I recall that even for my husband, I sent all original stuff. Frankly, I could care less about my or my husband's document. But this time, I've got my mother in law's and father-in-laws certificates and my in-laws have been concerned since day 1 about sending originals. This is why i am trying to find all ways to ensure that certificates are protected, not lost, etc.

Thanks Saylin as always :)

I see! I guess I jumped the gun! I sent them an email about the problem. I should wait a bit longer then. Is there a way to find out when the embassy receives the case?

Thanks as always Saylin!
