Thanks Saylin.

This optin email is something only for EP?

Yes, the optin email is for those from countries where EP is optional and you must optin in. Unfortunately, your country is not eligible for EP. The link to eligible countries is in the first post.

Quick question - I just realized that the paystubs/employment letter I'm providing with the AOS package do not include my husbands middle name (or just his initial). Is this an issue?

Thanks!

champi - yes that was an error and I will fix my signature.

Nope, not an issue, as long as it has his first and last name, that's fine!

Roosha & SayLin,

Roosha, you are just ahead of me in this process. I am guessing a week. So, if you don't mind, I will be asking another question. I did send the DS-3032 as an email and in a four hours I got a response:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (
NVC
) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: KDUXXXXXXXXXX filed by ME on behalf of HER.

We are unable to add third party contact information to the case record at this time. Please continue to notify the
NVC
of any change in the petitioner's or principal applicant's address.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

According to SayLin, in a post from last year, this is what you get when you email your DS-3032 too soon. Should I wait a few days or just send it in again in 24 hours. What does "eligible for further processing" mean if they won't accept our emailed DS-3032? I don't want to annoy these people. innocent.gif But I really want to get all of this paperwork out of the house so I can think about something else for a month.

Roosha, congrats on your progress.

*Saylin, lower case l :P

And there's a question/answer about this on post 2. I'd recommend sending it again, just like Roosha suggested.

Sorry to ask a question that might have been answered already...

How long does it take from NVC/IIN numbers assignement to the actual invoices to be ready?

Thank you!

Typically just a few days, so keep an eye out on the payment portal! It could very well be this week!

GOT AN INTERVIEW DATE!!! APRIL 10!!!

CASE COMPLETE WOOOHOOOO!!!!! Hoping for easy, fast case completion for everyone else!!

Congrats! kicking.gif

This finally occurred to me. Am I suppose to put my wife's last name the same as my last name on the forms?

Only if she legally changed her last name (maiden) to your last name (married).

I choose not to change my name at all, kept all my documents in my maiden name. Obviously had no problems as it's not required (in Canada, at least) to change to your married name.

Hey, you really need to be patient for this stage. I swear NVC is the most headache stage, complicated and wears people out. But as long as you get everything ahead of time, it takes hopefully one month to get it through, once you receive your case #.

What's on her passport and other certificate? I think you'll send her certificates, they should be same, right?

For my AOS checklist, I sent in just an explanation for the years of 2011, 2010 why I didn't file tax returns because of low income, will that be enough? Or was I supposed to send in a IRS publication? I read where some people said I should send in a publication, some others said not to. I was confused, so I just sent in the explanation along with my W2's for proof. As for 2012, I did file a tax return after I had already sent in the original I-864 packet, but since I got the checklist, I had the tax return (which I also have an amended tax return for because my tax-filer messed up), so I sent in the tax return copy along with the amended tax return copy and w2...so should I still worry about anything?

whatever names you put - remember -

the visa will be issued in the passport name.

Want her to use YOUR name? Have her get a new passport showing the new name.

There's probably some requirements in VN that she has to handle, for the name change, so be sure to look into that, soonish.

AND -

You probably can't do anything at NVC for 'the change' - but can certainly get it 'fixed' on interview day at the IV Unit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Sounds like you included everything needed. But you never know with NVC and the reviewing officer. Only time will tell...

That's what I'm worried about, if the reviewing office is meticulously picky, I'm screwed. Will he/she send me another checklist if they want more info or just reject it?

One more thought, if the NVC is close tomorrow, what will happen to all the mail they are supposed to receive from us?
