Heya,

So both our fees say 'in process'. It gives me the option to 'print document cover sheet'. Is that referring to the sheet that needs to go at the front of my AOS and IV packages? (I don't know why I was under the impression I had to wait for the 'PAID' status before I could print the cover sheet?)

Yep, those are the ones! As soon as you pay, you can print them - you don't have to wait until it says "PAID".

I made a similar mistake waiting too. The IV invoice took a week to process and I just sat there waiting for it to show PAID, I didn't realize at that moment we could just send in the DS-230 package (I had it ready even before the invoice). :bonk: Anywho, hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did and save time! :)

I have read the links but got a bit confused - do we need to ask NVC for a BIN as well as an IIN?

So Chris is going to call tonight 2 weeks from noa2, he'll be asking if they've received our file. If they have it's worth asking for NVC case number, invoice identification number? Or is it too soon?

He's a bit shy on phone :(

Roosha,

I called again and the operator asked me if I wanted to add an email address. I did. Then he said to wait until we received our DS-3032 in the mail, 30-45 business days - yikes, before doing anything else. Guess I should ignore that and send it in now as an email, right? That's what I am going to do.

John

Yes def ignore that! Use the template and also if you can scan and attach the actual form DS-3032 and send the email. You should get an email accepting your choice of agent in about a week. Always ignore NVC operators and their timelines!

Also, make sure you add both yours and your wife's email addresses!

That's great - so now I just pay the fee and wait for Fee Bill to show up as paid? I will pay the fee tomorrow morning itself.

Darnell - yes the subject does say attorney. I did get an email yesterday - before this email with the pdf saying:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: <case number> filed by <> on behalf of <>.

We removed the attorney of record from this case. All future correspondence will be sent to the petitioner.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

Also in the pdf on the first page it says

You are registered as the attorney of record in the immigrant visa case of <>. As such

you must review communication and processing requirements and options which may apply to this

case. Go to the U.S. Department of State website at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov, and click the

"Establish communication and register an agent for your case" button. Review the "Embassy/Consulate

Specific Requirements and Options" to determine if any apply to this case.

Then it goes on to list the two forms with my name as the petitioner and my wife's name as the beneficiary.

So I am assuming this is good - nothing to worry here? Or should I email them to clarify?

Everything's good, nothing to worry about ;)

Called NVC today and got our case #s, IINs & BINs.

Sent in the OPTIN e-mails.

Signed in and submitted the DS-261s.

I'm getting an error when I try to sign onto the payment portal for me: You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information.

I am able to sign in as DD and see hers though.

The error is a very good sign ;) Check post 2!

NVC weather report:

Tuesday 43/34F 6/1C Snow showers 30%

Wednesday 39/32F 4/0C AM Snow showers 30%

Thursday 34/30F 1/-1C Heavy Snow 100%

Friday 39/28F 4/-2C Rain/ Snow 100%

Ooph, depending how bad it is, NVC may close Thursday and Friday...

John

Glad you were able to add the email addresses good.gif

No need to wait on sending the DS-3032. You can do it now.

I completed the payments for both the AOS and DS-230.

The portal now shows as payment in process.

I also printed out the coversheet with the bar code.

Do I need to wait for the payment to be accepted before I send out the packets for AOS and DS-230

Also - I know this has been discussed before and is also on post 1 - but do you guys recommend sending the Tax Returns along with the last 3 years of Tax Transcripts?

I want to ask this because - I have tax transcripts for 2009,2010 and 2011.

I just finished doing taxes for 2012 so now I will have tax returns for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. So I am wondering what I should do.

If you're sending in tax transcripts, no need to send in the tax returns. Make sure the tax returns are brought to the interview though as some embassies/consulates want to see both.

Cat

I can't remember when it changed, but now you can print the bar-coded cover sheet while the bill is in progress. It used to be where it was only available after it appeared as paid.

I have read the links but got a bit confused - do we need to ask NVC for a BIN as well as an IIN?

He's a bit shy on phone :(

BIN is a number used only for those eligible for online forms. The UK is not one of those countries, so don't bother asking for it. You just need the case number and IIN.

And just have him ask if a case number has been assigned yet. If it has, get that number, get the IIN, and give over both email addresses.

I'm actually shy on the phone too. I find it helps to write out what I'm planning on saying on Notepad, and then sort of reading it off. I also had both our full names written down, along with our birth dates, and our email addresses (even though I know them by heart).

Oh, I might have to change that. The wiki was written when the bar-coded cover sheets only became available AFTER the payment showed as paid. Thus, you couldn't send the package in until then. But since you get the bar-coded cover sheets as soon as you pay the bill, then technically you can send it right away.

As long as your optin was accepted and you're enrolled in EP, then yes, you can send it. By the time they get to your email, the payment should be cleared.
