Speedwell, I'm happy they're saying 2-4 weeks. Essentially 2-4 weeks IS 10-20 business days, but apparently that's hard to understand so they're making it easier. Lol.

I called NVC tonight and they said my case was completed today! So I'm super excited. Not sure how long I will have to wait for an interview as there is not much country specifics for my country on here but at least there is a light at the end of this long dark tunnel. :) Praying I can at least getaway May interview date. B-)

I think is still possible, if you start counting the days at 'AOS FEE BILL RECEIVED' and get a case complete the last week of the month.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

A lot of those NVC Speed Records are just pure chance/luck. You can make it through faster just using the guides here on the site and calling a lot to stay updated on changes to your case as soon as they happen. I also have a hard time believing anyone can make it through in 8 days unless their uncle works at the NVC. Still 30 days is better than 45 or 60.

I didn't send mine through my congressman. I sent it directly to the NVC. I didn't call everyday. I received an email after sending it that had this in the body:

Your request for the expeditious processing of this immigrant visa petition is currently under review. You will be informed of the results when the review is completed.

I called anyway seven days later and found it hadn't been forwarded to the embassy yet! Who knows why. It has been forwarded as of today and now I wait for the embassy to respond to the NVC and the NVC to send me an email. I get the feeling I have the plague when it comes to dealing with the embassy directly. Under the old process, before Aug 2011, I would have been able to use DCF and have this petition taken care of in a few weeks, maybe a month at the latest. Now they won't even talk to me.

I see! I guess I will give it couple of days and start calling to check on it! You are right about the embassy issues! Expediting is kinda risky, but if it's done the way it's supposed to be, it is great! I hope the Cairo embassy is good with replying to ppl! Good luck to us!

So am upset with NVC

They said that its going to take 20 days to review the ppwrk that i sent in over a week ago !!!

Ughhh at that moment i sighhheddd !!!

Turnt off the lights and said wuuuuuuusssssaaaaaa!!!!

Ughh so does that mean its 40 days in total

Lmao

They say 20 days to everyone, that's boilerplate. Take a look at some of VJ users signature timelines and you will get a better idea of how much time it's taking to process the packets. For instance, my AOS was approved in 9 days. Take a look around, don't PANIC. smile.gif One mantra to keep in mind when dealing with government - "Hurry Up and Wait".

Got a checklist with the cover letter "CHECKLIST COVER LETTER"

The Principal Applicant and any other Applicants who will be accompanying him or her to the United

States must now download and complete an Immigrant Visa Application; please visit the following

website for instructions:

http://immigrantvisas.state.gov (click on the link for "submit Visa application and civil documents")

Please submit the Immigrant Visa Application form(s) and required supporting documents for each

Applicant in one package to the National Visa Center; sending this information separately will delay

your visa.

I sent both the packages together but they seem to have only worked on the AOS packet. Is this what people call a "fake checklist".

I am more worried about this because the DS-230 has all the original documents.

I am currently visiting my wife and her family in Iran so have no access to be able to call NVC till I get back next week (that will be two weeks since I sent the packet)
