am trying to pay the aos fees but i cant select the aos fees on the site .. its like dimmed .. is that normal ??

Yes it's normal as you just got your case number. The AOS takes a few days to be invoiced, maybe by the end of the week for you. Keep checking the payment portal.

Got my case (and other) numbers last week on Monday.

I went on and did everything I could since then - OPTIN e-mail (still no response on that one), did the DS-261 online, paid the AOS.

I am still waiting for the ability to pay the IV Bill. Called today and they told me that the DS-261 was processed this morning and I should be able to pay the IV Bill within a couple of days.

Tonight I do a final review of the I-864's (we are using a joint sponsor) and submit it tomorrow. Then wait for the ability to pay the IV Bill and do the DS-260. I want to get through the process and get to Montreal and get it all done!!

Anyone have a ballpark idea how long it is between case complete at NVC and a Montreal interview these days?

Montreal has been at a steady average of 1.5-2 months from case complete date to interview date. I'd say if you submit the DS-260 and IV package as soon as you can, then you could have a case complete by the end of next week, giving you an interview in May sometime :)

yeah i emailed choice of agent , do i have to wait till nvc accepts it to pay the aos fees ???

The DS-3032 is part of the IV track. The IV and AOS are two separate tracks at NVC, which have NOTHING to do with one another (except that both need to be completed for NVC to close your case). Please go back to the first post and look at the flowchart, or click the link in my signature below.

I don't think so. I think by Wednesday will be able to pay it. So how did you email the choice of agent? I'm kinda lost

Did you not read the guides on EP and online forms like I suggested? For Mexico, you do NOT fill out the DS-3032. You have to fill out the online DS-261.

Niki- So do I send in the Ds-261 first before paying the $88?? Thank you!!

DS-261 = IV track

$88 = AOS track

Like I said above, IV and AOS have nothing to do with one another. You can do whichever one you want first.

Saylin- I gave them my husband's email add and she gave me all case, invoice and beneficiary #'s now email them the DS261? How ever I just went on the link and it says I can't log in. Should I wait till later to try again?

If you can successfully sign onto the online forms portal, then yes, send the DS-261! The link to the online forms portal is in the first post. It may take a day or two before you're able to log in. Just keep trying.

Opened my e-mail to 2 messages from NVC. The dreaded checklist e-mail.

Open up the checklist and it's for IV fees.

Which are PAID.

I'm hoping this means the AOS package is good to go.

The darned phone line is busy.

Definitely in response to reviewing (and accepting) the AOS package. Call to confirm! kicking.gif

does everybody need a BIN# or is that only for mexico and Canada?

The BIN is only needed for those eligible for online forms (which is more than just Canada and Mexico). The link to eligible countries is in the first post.

Can't sign into the payment portal. Hopefully they're invoicing something!

The AOS should be invoiced tomorrow ;) Keep checking every hour or so once 7am EST hits tomorrow!

Called back and got the IIN# but there in no invoice showing yet. How long does it take to show up? I want to get it paid ASAP. To move things forward.

It'll probably get invoiced later this week. Keep an eye out ;)

ALL PRAISE TO GOD, CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!:dancing:

We received a checklist on 03/08/2013 regarding residence @ age 16 and original birth certificate. New DS-230 updated with Part 1 signed, certified copy of birth certificate and Birth Attestation from National Population Commission in Nigeria submitted with cover letter.Mailed documents EMS on 03/14/2013.Received 03/15/2013.I called every day and each time I was told "still waiting for the documents to be submitted." Today, I called and after waiting 15 minutes was told Case Complete on 03/20/2013 :dancing:

This is such a blessing and the journey continues as we wait for the interview date.Thank you to all for your advice and insight.PLEASE Saylin....update us!!!!!

Congrats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Since you don't have a signature, when was your case number assigned and when did you send the original IV package?

DS-3032 accepted

Woohoo! kicking.gif

    FINALLY got the case number after a month and a half from approval! It's funny how all of us that have files received on March 11th get a case number today!! The lady first asked my for my husband's name and DOB and I knew it at that moment! lol! I gave her both emails, and now I am ready to send out the expedite request through my congressman and another email through me. I hope I hear a reply this week from them!  I am so happy alhamdoallah!

Holy cow, finally! Congrats!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Received a "false checklist" for our IV Packet today, a week after they received my IV Packet - anything to worry about? This suggests that they haven't opened up the FedEx envelope yet, 7 DAYS!!ranting33va.gif

It's based on their review of your AOS package last week. So, nothing to worry about no0pb.gif

Only worry if checklists ask for specific things (like a birth certificate for example). When they request for the entire package, it's a false checklist, meaning they reviewed the other package.

Saylin, has this turned into an addiction? I know we are all filled with gratitude for your help, but your own life comes first. Hit the books and get those degrees!!!

Got a checklist again and this time its for birth & marriage certificate, though we sent out original and certified copies. I'm worried now. Why this is taking so long :( I was hoping for a case complete last week and still end up getting checklists!

Call them ASAP. Speak with a supervisor.

You only need the copy of the US passport of the joint sponsor. You will also want to submit proof of his current income - pay stubs, letter from employer, etc.

You are going to want to submit some proof of where you will be living - a lease, a title, etc.

Might also want to submit copies of bank or credit card statements with US addresses. There is a good list on the first post in this thread.

You'll need to refer to people from your own country in terms of "what is enough" as it greatly varies.

He will need to prove his retirement income.

You can take whatever chances you want, but the standard that people do and get approved with is somewhere to live.

Where will you live after the plane lands? A family member for a while? Get a lease from them.

Ok finally.

So, someone just confirm something for me?

Since I do everything online, there were be actually no need for me to mail anything to the US during this process, right?

Send in the optin email right after you get case numbers and no... Everything is email and PDF.
