My IV invoice showed paid yesterday... ha! some secret Samaritan workers at NVC on weekends... :-)

Now my question is, how long does it take for NVC to schedule interview after case complete. Do you get an interview date the day the case is complete?

Trying to plan a trip to be there around interview time. Not sure if I can pull off being present at interview though.

Thanks!

Same here, I think another person also had their payment status go PAID too yesterday. It's an automated system, I think they settle in batches (I know point of sales/credit card systems), so it makes sense, they must settle two or three times a week. I asked NVC about sending in packages right away after paying, or waiting, they said it doesn't matter, as long as you have the barcode cover sheet.

Sorry to be vague but interviews are schedule when they are scheduled. Usually once you have case complete its a wait. You just have to wait for the next batch of assignments. May interviews may start about 1st week of April. Last 4 months they been starting the 1st week of the month for the next month.

Sheer boredom led me to wonder how many immigrant cases my Embassy receives per month. I figured this would give me an idea of whether they could expedite my case or not… I've heard the phrase "depending on case load" mentioned a few times.

So, I searched DHL for the last five months and found exactly 2 shipments from NVC both in March. ph34r.gif Could this be right??? Now I know why they haven't answered my email… they're too busy making money on non-immigrant visa applications. So cynical… I know.

You can take a look at this table, if it is right, then Nepal issues over 3000 IVs a year. By comparison, Sweden which services 3 countries (Sweden, Denmark, and Norway) issued 435. Seems like they are busy.

Had to edit my comment, you are absolutely right,,,, Amazing! But something seems strange with those numbers. I am guessing that 2012 was "a big year" because the US settled thousands of Bhutanese refugees. That would account for why they only had two immigrant cases so far in March compared with last years totals which would make it over 12 cases per working day!!

Not "Immigrant Visas",,,, "Visas". Yes there is a line every single day at the embassy for "Visas". It's a huge money making machine. Most are rejected.

Yes, they issue about 3400 immigrant visas and 8400 non-immigrant visas. Left side is immigrant visas and right is non-immigrant.

Roosha, you know that if you deliver your child in Qatar he will never be allowed to run for president.

Yes, I saw that too late and then edited my reply to you.

 yes I know. Too bad her mom is too selfish and would rather stay with her father for these important milestones rather than make sure she has the opportunity to be POTUS! :P

Nola that table is amazing, where do you find this stuff? You always link to the most interesting pieces of information... Anyway thanks, gives me hope that we'll be able to get an earlier interview date if needed seeing as last year Doha only processed 256 IV's!!
