Can anyone tell me how long it has taken to get a response on an expedite request is? They received ours on Monday AM. Called today and they are saying they have it but to expect a response sometime next week. Looking at the timeframe other's expedites were handled in I was expecting an answer within a weeks time not two. I guess it's a good sign that it wasn't rejected immediately?? The operator, Mel, was congenial.

Our case has taken one step forward - our AOS packet was accepted - found that out today! kicking.gif

Here is my experience, I sent an expedite request 2 times : 02/26 and 03/06. NVC responded they sent my request to the embassy on 03/13 but till now they have not heard back.

Also, my congressman sent a request directly to the embassy but he as well still has not heard anything.

Now my file is moving along at NVC so I guess I just have to be patient. What scares me is if the embassy does not respond even to congressmen hoz are they going to handle my case and assign a fast interview... :-(

Remember, the expedite request is forwarded to the embassy (NVC doesn't decide on the expedite request). So time frames are going to vary as it depends on how fast the embassy will respond (which is dependent upon work load).

Maybe I will call again next Monday and ask the operator if a T2 would have more information on the expedite. I want to be gentle with the operators' egos.

Keep in mind, Tier 2 is for USCIS. It's supervisors at NVC ;)

But yeah, good idea. I'm sure a supervisor would have more information yes.gif

Case complete today 3/22/2013.

send both AOS and IV package together and received by NVC 3/13/2013. case complete by nine(9)days. No checklist, Thank God and all members of VJ especially saylin. Folks I think is better to send both package together in one envelope with each barcode as it get reviewed together. The reason I say this is because when i call this morning they told they havent reviewed the package yet and just now when i called the operator told me both packages were reviewed this afternoon and case is completed awaiting interview at the consulate.

Excellent! Congratulations.

Hi Saylin!

Thanks for the info i really appreciate all the help. I really couldnt do it without you. I got the IV invoice and paid... shows paid already which gave the availability to fill out the Ds-260. Im assuming the ds-260 is the online version of the IV package? so once i finish this up all i need to do is wait to get the successful opt in of electronic filing and send the AOS.... and hopefully i dont get some type of checklist for either IV or the AOS, is that correct? Now im almost done filling out the ds-260, but two questions are a bit confusing in our case. My wife is a student In Juarez for Nursing and is almost done with her degree, all she needs to do is an internship (Which in Mexico means sending her to a little town in the middle of no where for a year with pay of about 10-15 dollars biweekly LOL) to finish her degree. Eventually, if god permits and we get through this whole journey and obtain her green card she will try and revalidate her schooling in the U.S. or finish her title and get certified to practice in the U.S. Given this information, Saylin, what do you think we should answer to these questions?

-Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?

-Yes (Box appears asking for an explanation)

-No

-Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?

-Yes (Box appears asking for an explanation)

-No
