IV Bill appeared as "PAID" this morning - so fast! Just submitted my DS-260 online and emailed my supporting documents to NVC.

Fingers crossed I don't get a checklist and get a May interview!

Quick note to others doing EP. The DS-260 only asked for PRESENT occupation (exact question after putting in present employer was, "Do you have other occupations?", which I said "NO"). So all that work I did tracking down my 10+ employers during school was a total waste of time. They still asked for every place of residence since you were 16 though.

When did you pay your IV bill?

I start getting worried as I paid mine last friday 03/15 and the money has been withdrawn from my account but still shows IN PROCESS on NVC website... (??)

I know it's been posted on here before, but as long as you have that magic barcoded sheet, it doesn't matter if your account still shows "in process" as they're reviewing your file. It won't hold you up for case closure. I panicked when ours didn't roll over in the expected 3 business days and the supervisor I spoke to told me that they could approve my package as long as the sheet was included. So just relax...you're almost there!

Folks, my nerves, they canna take much mair :crying:

I requested NVC Research look into why my file did not go to the NVC even though it was approved on February 6, and the notice date was February 7, and the notice said USCIS forwarded the approved petition to the NVC. I received the following heart-stopping e-mail earlier this morning:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved petition. USCIS has informed us that your petition will be retained at the (HOUSTON FIELD OFFICE). Please contact USCIS at 800-375-5283 or visit their web site at www.uscis.gov for additional information.

I was under the impression that the Houston Field Office sent my petition back to the NBC (MSC) because the approval notice came from the NBC, not the field office. So I thought the file had been transferred back to Houston and there was some problem they weren't telling me about. Nothing changed on the USCIS case status website; it still said Post-Decision Activity. I couldn't get through to a person at the USCIS. I called NVC and of course they could tell me nothing about the file because they don't have it yet. So I called my Senator's office and spoke to the immigration liaison, and she said she'd call them and get right back to me. Well, she did, in just 15 minutes (woot!). She said our file is FINE and normal, there's NOTHING WRONG with it, and in fact they boxed it up with a whole lot of other petitions and sent it on TUESDAY. It should be getting to the NVC today or so.

I noticed there were a couple other people on the thread whose petitions were "stuck" and who also filed through Houston. Folks, what do you want to bet your approved files are nestled cozily next to mine in the same damned box?

Ah Speedwell, we meet again :P

I think it is because I sent G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance. When I called NVC the girl told me all my info, including my email...

Yup, that's how they sometimes know the petitioner's email address. But they won't know the beneficiary's, so I hoped you told the operator the beneficiary's email address while on the call. If not, call back up asap to give it.

Woohoo, grats on the progress! kicking.gif

It didn't ask for any PREVIOUS occupations at all?

Can any others who did the DS-260 recently attest to this as well? I might have to update my wiki then...

blink.gif Goodness gracious. Definitely call NVC and see if they see the same thing on their systems. If they do, then yes, the cosponsor will have to send a new form, along with the AOS bar-coded cover sheet on top.

It's rare, but I've seen people get a second, unrelated checklist on a package after it was reviewed the second time (due to a checklist).

What Im upset about is I never got a second checklist! In fact, this was the first time in the billions of times Ive called them that I heard this news!

I did end up looking at the AOS packet copy when I got home and realized my cosponsor did not sign Part II of the Household Member Contract (I-864A).

Regardless, she is doing that today and sending it in.

Our I130 has now gone to NVC - can someone tell me how they will notify the petitioner to pay for the i864?

Thanks

If no email addresses are given when a case number is assigned, then expect to receive after a few weeks from case number a postal package about information on paying. If email addresses are given, then you'll receive the same correspondence by email a few days after case number is assigned. YOU decide on how to receive the correspondence (snail mail or email) by whether or not you give email addresses over.

Have you read over the first two posts in this thread?

Remember, it can take a few days to receive the checklist. If you just found out yesterday, you might get the checklist later today or next week.

Glad it's getting fixed though pronto. Make sure she includes the AOS bar-coded cover sheet.

If only NVC had mentioned that in the first checklist you received. Although, I'm guessing they didn't catch it until the second review when they received your checklist response.

True but she said they sent a checklist for it March 12th.

Here is what the checklist said on March 12th:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) or supporting documents.

However, we are still waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Immigrant Visa Application

or civil documentation. Please return the requested information so that we may complete the processing

of your case.

Nothing about the AOS needing anything. I even called when I got that and got no information. In fact, when I called about it, they told me the AOS was complete and accepted!

OK! I just got my case number!!!!

They already had my email and my phone number.

However I couldn't give over my husband's email nor would they give me the IIN. She said the system wouldn't let her because they are still inputting information.

When should I call back again?

I would like to send the new agent form asap.

On the DS260 when it asks "do you have other occupation/employment?" You'd have to say "yes" and then it asks you to keep adding employment for the past ten years. When you say "no" it means you've only been employed by one employer for the past 10 years, that's what I think. My attorney even looked at my form before submitting and said everything looks good and I did everything right.
