Ok so I got false checklist for AOS since IV package was accepted yesterday. I JUST got off the phone with NVC and the operator said she can see that a package is under review, which of course is the AOS package since we didn't send anything else in, although she couldn't be specific. She said that all she can see is that it says "mail package under review".

My AOS and IV packages reached NVC the same day (almost the same time), but were sent from two different places. I think AOS package takes longer to review. So anyone thinking to save money and waiting to send the AOS package with the IV package, don't. You want to send in the AOS package asap b/c as far as I can tell the AOS package is going to hold up your case if sent at the same time as the IV package.

F-M-L. Got an email from my senator's liaison and apparently the NVC lost my file. Going through the email trail my senator sent me, first NVC stated they haven't received it from the USCIS. Then the USCIS provided them with the tracking number and shows a gentleman named Desmond signing for it. Now, they state they can't find the case in the building. I must have truly pissed someone off. This is absolutely mother flipping incredible......this is complete BS.

Geez, you and Nola are really competing for the "screwed over the most by USCIS/NVC" prize, aren't you? I am so sorry to hear that your troubles have not been resolved. Has there been any suggestion as to what can be done to rectify the situation? And you should defo demand an expedite at NVC, since it's their snafu that is holding you up now. Sending you good thoughts for a fast resolution!

While I don't want to say you're wrong, I think it's a luck of the draw kind of thing. I sent both my packages together, and it only took eight days from them being received at NVC to case complete, and I sent a LOT of stuff with my AOS package since I had to show proof of domicile. I sent them together to save on international shipping, though, so if I were in the States I might've just sent the AOS ahead of time like you said. Depends on preference, I guess.

Ok, so my husband lives with his sister. We're ready to fill out I-864 forms.

We decided on 1-864's for both because while they live together but don't co-mingle finances, so not the same financial household so not an I-864a for her.

however, just found out that she claimed him as a dependant for part of 2012 on the 2012 tax return - he had just moved south and didn't have a job. I'm understanding from the instructions that because of that she will now have to claim a household size of 3 (her, me, him) because the last tax return states him as a dependant - even though he now has a job. Is that correct?

With that in mind is there any advantage to having him fill in an 1-864 & her an i-864a instead of the initial plan?

Ugh, once again I paid my bill(this time iv) and it still shows it in process after its been 3 days since they already took out the money from my bank account. I noticed a member paid their IV bill the same day as me and their status was updated to *paid...

There goes sending out my stuff tomorrow at this rate..

Also a question(its been answered before but im still unclear about the *Right answer)

My parents are going to be my joint sponsor and they file their taxes jointly.

So do each of them fill out an I-864A or they can fill it out together?

I paid on the 15th late, I'm still "in process". I just mailed the IV packet today, I'm sure it'll change in a few days! I hope... I think... blush.gif

I emailed NVC my DS 3032 March 13, and did not receive any approval letter except auto response. :(

Resend the DS-3032 email but with "SUPERVISOR REVIEW" at the beginning of the subject line before the casenumber and beneficiary name.

Paid my IV fee today whoop whoop so excited to get this show on the road !!!!

Hope my twin got to pay his today - Coaltlsy where are you

LOL, you're catching up! I got invoiced on friday the 15th, paid then, but it's stuck in process. I mailed my IV packet today, hopefully it doesn't stay in process for long. blush.gif

I hope my husband and I get to call ourselves March 2013 NVC filers, too :)

Good luck to all of us! :star:
