Count me in. Finally made it to this thread. Called NVC today but with no luck. I was told to call back after 11 business days of receiving my NOA2. I will try to call again this Friday. All I want to know right now is if they received my case.

You're right, minimum of two days... Some will need three days if they have a medical issue..

Correct 2 days. I meant to say the medical stuff is out of the way, and she only needs to return for vaccines, and get her papers.

I got mine exactly two weeks after NVC received my case (a Monday), but it was ready the Friday before! So I'd say try on Thursday or Friday - I bet they'll have some good news for you!

One more question... (of too many) :-)

I am ready to send the IV packet since Friday but in a dilemma. My wife's passport is being renewed and will take a few more days if not more. So I was thinking sending the packet with copies of the old passeport and she will go to the interview with the new passeport.

Any advice?

Send the package in! Have your wife bring both passports (old and new) to the interview, just in case they may want to see the old one.

Called NVC and they told me that the DS-261 was FINALLY reviewed today!! Hopefully my IV bill will be invoiced very soon so that I can get that part done.

Do people think I may still have a shot at a case complete before the end of the month, and interview in May?

If the IV bill is invoiced this week and appears as paid, then yes, quite possible to get a case complete by the end of the month! And since Canada is typically 1.5-2 months from case complete to interview date, May is highly possible!

Hi Saylin, I called NVC today and I was told cases for my parents have been completed and just waiting for the interview to be scheduled. Do you have any idea of how long does it take for NVC normally to email us the appointment letter from the time the case is complete and how does NVC determine the interview date for Manila?

Hmmm so apparently both our packages are under review at the moment (hooray) However, 2 people have now told hubby that my birth certificate is not listed (one man did say it could possibly be being processed? Little concerned as that's my original birth certificate! Plus I don't want our application to get slowed down. Anyone else had a similar problem before? Should I be worried?

I would say yes, there's a decent chance it could be completed this week, as long as everything's in order with the birth certificate. My case got completed eight days after being received at NVC - as in regular days, not business days. I'd be calling like crazy this week if I were you!

Question, NVC received my AOS packet last week. They have the IV packet as of today. I have called twice now but I don't really know what to ask. The first time I asked, "what is the status of my case" and was told they are waiting for my DS-230. Today I told the operator that they received my AOS last week and I asked if my AOS has been reviewed and if there are any issues, RFEs, for it. She said, "OK, you have to wait 20 days…" Difficult for me to interpret what's going on in that black box we call the NVC.

Just be frank and ask them, "has my AOS/Affidavit of support package been reviewed and accepted yet?"

Like coltoasty suggested, just ask: "Has my Affidavit of Support package been reviewed? Has my Immigrant Visa package been reviewed?" They'll either say yes or no. If it's no, then they'll probably tell you to wait 20 days (even though it doesn't take that long).

I butter them up first, ask them how their day is going, blah blah. Then I usually get good answers. I've had good luck with this tactic.

I'm aiming for a May interview now. Just found out that the document that they checklisted me for is going to take two more days for my husband to obtain prior to translation. That, and Hamigirl got the last April interview for Cas, I'm sure of it. But I'm glad for her.
