So I just received a checklist:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The Embassy/Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic form

DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) which can be found at: .............

The principal applicant must notify us of his/her choice before we can continue processing this case.

[LBD 03/15/2013]

Called NVC to confirm that it was a false checklist. Operator said it was a false checklist and jsut confirms that AOS package was fine. She also said my DS-261 has still not been reviewed *sigh*

A little late, but that checklist is due to your AOS being reviewed and accepted.

Hope that DS-261 is reviewed and added to the case file soon...

I am so excited. Just got off the phone with NVC and I have my case number.

Unfortunately, they couldn't take the email addresses because apparently it just got into the system. Is that correct or do I need to call back again??

Thanks

Congrats! Yes, when they're inputting case information then operators are unable to add information. But call up again tonight, right before they close and see if you're able to add the email addresses.

We got confirmation that NVC received our email! dancin5hr.gifGot my invoice number and paid the AOS bill.

I only sent the email last night so I am extremely pleased to see it turned around so quickly.

This may have been answered already and if so I apologize for asking again.

My husband is still gathering some documents we need for NVC such as his birth certificate. Things move very slow in India and it may be several weeks before he is able to mail me everything I need. I am also waiting on the Thai police department to mail me my husband's police records.

Is there any disadvantage to submitting the AOS package and IV package separately? I have all the materials necessary for AOS so I am ready to submit everything. I don't know is there is any advantage to doing that.

Also, there is a possibility that I will be taking a new job soon. What would happen if I submit the AOS package and then afterwards undergo an employer change? How will this affect my ability to be the primary sponsor for my husband?

Grats! kicking.gif

The only disadvantage is you'd pay for postage for both packages, instead of just once. That's the only advantage sending the packages together has: cheaper postage. If the AOS package is ready, then send it off. Include the bar-coded cover sheet!

Just bring a new I-864 to the interview, a new employment letter, and as many pay stubs as you will have gotten. That's it! As long as it's still enough over the poverty line, then it won't affect you at all.

Finally got our case number. What a relief..I've called earlier to know if they have it yet and first thing the lady ask after I gave a her the the receipt number was our emails.God is good.

Congrats!

hello Saylin and VJ friends,

My wife has her interview at the Abu Dhabi embassy soon. Using the DHL tracking methods on this site I am pretty sure our case got to the embassy last week. will we receive a letter/email from the embassy?

Nope. Your last piece of correspondence was the interview letter from NVC.

And if you want to confirm your case arrived at the embassy, you can call up DOS next week and ask. They have access to your file.

WOW ohhh WOW this has been a great week for me :) Case complete on 3-13 and interview date given to us today for 4-30 9am!!!!!!!!

Wow, super fast! Congrats! kicking.gif

Halle-flipping-lujah!!! Got a phone call from the senator office at 8:30pm. Per the USCIS tracking she was provided, my case was delivered to the NVC March 8 at 9:49am signed by someone named Desmond. She said she will call the NVC Liasion Monday to find out why they don't show receipt of receiving it since it was delivered over a week ago. The file is in its right location. I can breathe!!!!!

Got a senator that responds fast (and late) good.gif Glad your file finally made it to NVC! Hopefully it won't be too much longer until a case number has been assigned!

A little late, but that checklist is due to your AOS being reviewed and accepted.

Hope that DS-261 is reviewed and added to the case file soon...

Thanks. Apparently they already had my email address and phone number. Giving them my husband's

I swear I have you on watch alert. So happy for you. One thing you will notice is the terms NVC uses. There's received and received. LOL

  1. The date It is received (That first date). Desmond the mail dude signs for it. :) This is when it arrives from USCIS. This is where you are. For some reason them receiving from USCIS they don't know until they actually enter into syste,. They better hurry up. But at least its there. I so know how you are feeling when you hear "we found it its here".
  2. Than the date they received to enter into system is them just entering your info.
  3. Then there's the case#, IIN#.

So happy for you dear.

Ok you just cleared this up for me! Because I was getting two dates from NVC, the 4th and then the 8th of March. So which one do you go by when waiting for case numbers?. :bonk:

VJ members, FYI

I guess NVC reviews the packets together "there is no half step" according to the operator. So, until both the AOS and IV packet are both there nothing will be reviewed. So, whatever packet you send last will hold up review of your case at NVC until it has arrived.

Hi, that's strange because your dates are so far apart from each other. Four days is a big difference. Go with the 4th - add ten business days then start calling at the end of their work day to get your case number. Call until you get it. One day they will ask you for the beneficiary's info and you will know that you are getting the case number. Make sure to give them your email addresses that day (if they can attach them then - if not call back the following morning and try to attach your email addresses to the case again)

VJ members, FYI

I guess NVC reviews the packets together "there is no half step" according to the operator. So, until both the AOS and IV packet are both there nothing will be reviewed. So, whatever packet you send last will hold up review of your case at NVC until it has arrived.

Nope, not true no0pb.gif The packages are reviewed as soon as they get there. Doesn't matter which one they review first and doesn't matter if the other is in the building. This is clear with MANY members here.
