NVC Filers - March 2013

When updating our timelines, when is it consider that our case is NVC recieved? I have been calling NVC, they now say our case is in the building but not entered into the system.

I'm finally here....can't wait for this nightmare to be over....going to try to fly through here as quickly as possible. This distance is stress. How long does it take to complete NVC if you are on the ball with everything and how long do they take to schedule an interview after case is closed? I already spent 248 days at USCIS and 18 days waiting on a case number. Here's to hoping everyone has a speedy NVC journey!

I'm here too. I am hoping to get a case closed this month. I will check up on the AOS and IV packets next week to see if they've accepted either one yet or even both.

Our AOS package was signed for at NVC yesterday, hoping they will soon accept my DS3032 and invoice us for the IV bill. They don't seem to have taken any action to correct my surname, since my husband rang and emailed them, for some reason they started using my previous name, even though NOA1 and NOA2 have my new married name on them. I wish I had more patience

Got a response from NVC Research saying that my file was approved just recently and told me to wait. I called the NVC and told them about the email and it being outside the 30 day window. I was told and I quote "what are you complaining about, be thankful you were approved" I wanted to go through the phone and punch her teeth out. I ended the call by saying I hope you're furloughed with that attitude. This whole process is making me be on the edge at all times. I snap so quickly now. One month and I don't know where my file is. NVC hasn't received it, USCIS said they mailed to Delhi, but now I'm told "we can't see those details."

If your case is in the building, then it's been received at NVC Use the date they tell you when it landed there for the date on your timeline.

If you're on the ball (packages are ready to go, bills are paid right away, no errors/nothing missing), then you could be done with NVC in about 2-3 weeks after a case number is assigned.

As for scheduling interviews, this varies by embassy/consulate.

Hi Saylin - I'm putting together the cover letter for the I-864 for my husband. Could you take a look and see if I'm missing anything? Also, the tax transcripts show "total income" as $0 because of foreign income adjustments (all income from Canada), do I put $0 and an explantory note on the form, or just put the figure from income earned from wages/salaries (which is what I have down now)? Thanks!

- Form 1-864 (signed and dated)

- 2011 Tax Transcript

- 2010 Tax Transcript

- Letter of Employment

- Most recent pay stub from current employer in the United States (showing income earned to date)

- Last pay stub from previous Canadian employer (showing total income earned in 2013)

- 2012 T4 from previous Canadian employer (equivalent to W2) (showing income earned in 2013)

Is the USC currently living in Canada or have they already moved back to the US? Cause, if they're still in Canada, then you'll need to include proof of domicile. If not though, then it looks good

I'm not quite sure about the income question you have though. You might want to call up a few operators at NVC today and ask, and take the majority answer.

He has moved to the US now (started his new job in January). I will call NVC regarding the income question - I tried looking on VJ, but have read conflicting answers

Ok, good about him moving back to the US already. It's made your process easier.

And good luck with calling NVC. Hopefully all the operators are consistent and give the same answer...

Called this AM told them that G. Peters signed for the FEDEX.

Our papers(I-862/DS-230) will be reviewed by PI Supervisor, and forwarded to United States Embassy, Manila.

Then the United States Embassy, Manila, will complete the process.

I hope my wife and I are HERE in the USA before the 21st of March.

Hallelujah!!!! Congressman liason tracked the file down currently sitting in New Delhi. She found out yesterday but was updated by the consulate today due to time difference. The consulate shipped it to NVC and the liason is waiting for a tracking number. She said she will follow up next week with the NVC to ensure they don't get confused. If you're in Pennsylvania and are having trouble, contact Senator Toomeys office. Great and quick response.
