...Good Luck and best wishes to our Scottish friends Carla and Dave and to all the rest of you march filers!!! goofy.gif

We walked away from our interview with a "Decision will be mailed" letter ... at 4:45 pm last night we were approved! My I-130 was approved today!

We're so happy to be done with immigration for the next year and a half. Although, we will be spending the time collecting documentation for Dave's ROC. Thank goodness that's only one form!

I did some research and found out if anyone has an interview at the Fresno field office, they DO NOT approve applications on the spot. Everyone gets a "Decision will be mailed" letter.

Thank you! We are so relieved. I felt as though I had the weight of the world on my shoulders ... I can't believe that hurdle is done. Dave feels so much better now. He didn't want to do/plan anything in the event we were denied. Now he's got plans galore! One of the best things is he said we can finally take our honeymoon in Scotland (with a side trip to Ireland)!!! Woot! Woot!

Here's the review/story of yesterday's events. I posted in the April 2013 filers thread (post #918).

Hi everyone! Went to my husbands interview yesterday. Very basic information verifying ordeal. The IO was nice but also had a straight face the whole time until after the interview. There was a lady sitting in our room observing. The NYC federal plaza office is kinda crazy. For those of you who may have your interview at this office please come an hour earlier at least. We were running late, our appointment was for 10:30, walked in the building at exactly 10am and didn't get upstairs until 10:38am because of the security checks. They didn't mention anything about it but I would hate for someone to be a no show because of lines downstairs in the future.

So we then waited no more than 20 minutes and had our interview with a very professional yet nice IO.

She asked for my husbands original BC, passport, I94. My daughter's BC, my BC and my state ID. Later after asking some questions she asked for joint documents. I gave her bank statements, credit card statements, a previous lease, my daughters baptismal record.

Questions were like "How old is your husband?" What is his DOB? " what is his first child's name? How old is she? What are his parents names? Where was your husband born? When did he arrive in the U.S? Under what visa? How many previous marriages did he have? When was the last time he has seen his first born? What is his ex's full name?

To my husband:

"What is the DOB of the child you have together?" "What is her full name?" "What facility was she born?" "What time was she born?" "What are your wife's parents names" " how many divorces did your wife have?" "What visa did you come in with?" "What happened with that application?"

Then she asked me to briefly explain how we met and so on. She asked for the exact location we met.

Then she proceeded with the usual "yes and no" questions.

And at the end she asked for pictures. I gave the album and then kept one from my daughters baptism of the three of us, my sister and brother in law and the priest.

It ended by her giving us a paper saying my husbands application is pending upon review. The IO she believes we are a legit couple but its just procedure. She told us not to worry she sees nothing wrong and it would be up to a 60 day wait for an approval.

At 12:30pm today we received emails stating that his I-485 status is at card production.

We are so happy!

Congrats to you all. So happy that most are getting positive results and we did it all together.

I have been soo busy lately because we just moved into a new apartment. But I never forgot abt my VJ friends.

Many blessings to you all!

Hi Liz!

You're next :) Good luck on the interview! Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

I got my drivers license 2 days ago, soooo exciting .

That same day I drove to the grocery store by myself (yay) and I got a txt saying my case status had updated. I freaked out!

But it said USPS had delivers my card on June 11.... Exactly a month later I got the text. Phew!

Sure.

Our IO was very friendly, we didn't get asked that many questions.. and I got approved on the spot.

We got there about 20 mins before our interview. We waited until about 10 minutes past our interview time.

Got called in by a guy in his 30's or so.

He swore us in and we sat down.

We spent most of the time talking about the city we live in since he wanted to move there..

I already submitted photo's and all my evidence in the original submission so that is probably why we didn't get asked a lot.

As soon as he saw we have a child, he said that is the best evidence there is.

The interview took about 15 minutes and was approved on the spot.

Good luck!
