Weird! Our insurance company added Dave as a courtesy using his UK license. We didn't need a SSN at all. They can only have him as an additional driver for a month more before we have to produce a CADL. Oh, and by adding him, our insurance premium went DOWN! LOL

I found out NC is the only state who don't except foreign driving experience crying.gif

Did you have to have insurance before getting it? We tried to add me to my husbands insurance but without my driving record from my country we have to pay more than 200$ extra every monthsohmy.png

My insurance did the same :/ ironic, considering my husband was an official driver while in the firefighters in Italy (meaning he had to be recognized with 4 different levels of different driving licenses, for both trucks, forklifts, and cars). Seems like here that counts for nothing! Our insurance recognizes him as if hes never driven a day in his life. Oh well

Thanks. smile.png

It took us two days to find it. The card was delivered on Thursday afternoon, so I had to wait for the carrier to come here and look in the cluster of mail boxes that are in the same block. Since the mail carrier was aware of this situation, the first thing he did this morning was to come here and look for my envelope.

I hope you find your EAD and good luck with your process!

This question is for those who applied for a social security card after receiving their EAD and subsequently received their green cards: one needs to go back to the SS office to update the card with the new permanent resident status, correct? This applies to the driver's license too, right?

Yes you may go to the social security office to get the "for work authorization only" or whatever , removed. It's not mandetory though.

I'm leaving mine the way it is, don't feel like going to the ss office again.

My husband has been with his insurance company for like 10 yrs, and he's 33 and I'm 28.

I explained my situation to them and they added me without a problem. Plus they don't charge is extra !! Our premium stays the same !

And no they didn't ask for insurance to get learners permit at all. Also with the drivers test they'll ask for the vehicles insurance but you don't have to be on it yet, I don't think.
