For Liz: Case in point, ImmemorialN of the April 2013 Filers (Dallas local office), already received a "card in production" update for his EAD. And he/she filed April 10-ish. How is that for fast?

This all depends on how busy your local office is, I have seen people from NYC having to wait like 3 months for an interview date.... not trying to discourage you. But I do think because your local office is super busy, it's probably going to be a while. I don't think they have forgotten about you!

Since we're talking about delays here, I have a question - do all AOS applications get processed through the NBC? I was under the impression they did but reading through some posts I think I might be mistaken. The reason I ask this is that I have heard that NBC is a black hole when it comes to processing times and that is where my 130 appears to have been transferred to sad.png (I assume so since I have a MSC receipt number)

So I'm preparing myself for a long, frustrating wait!

My USCIS Journey...

 

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

09/09/14 - Day 523 - Status updated to Card/Document Production

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card mailed to address on record/permanent resident status registered

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card picked up by USPS.

09/16/14 - Day 530 - GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!

I-751 Timeline:

05/25/16 - Day 000 - I-751packet mailed to CSC

05/27/16 - Day 002 - I-751 packet received at CSC

06/02/16 - Day 008 - Check cashed

06/03/16 - Day 009 - NOA1 received. Receipt Date: 05/27/16

06/10/16 - Day 016 - Biometrics appointment notice received - appointment date 6/22/16

06/22/16 - Day 028 - Biometrics Appointment - complete

01/04/17 - Day 224 - Status update - ROC Approved!  Card production ordered.

#######, I'm also in NY so that means I also have a loooong wait ahead right? All i want is an AP so I can go home and visit my parents and friend :(

If the interview dates comes in early june that's awesome but I really wanna go home before the 23rd of June, and that'll probably not gonna happen. But if I go home, and my husband receives the interview date, can we reschedule? As long as I have EAD and AP I don't mind waiting for an interview...

04/30/2013 (Day 31) - I-485 case status updated to testing and interviewing. Still no updates on EAD or AP

05/07/2013 (Day 38) - Biometrics appointment

06/07/2013 (Day 69) - EAD updated to Card production. AP updated to Post Decision Activity.

06/15/2013 (Day 77) Recieved EAD/AP combo card

07/10/2013 (Day 102) Received first interview appointment
08/10/2013 (Day 132) Interview (which we rescheduled because I was out of the country at the time of the interview)

08/24/2013 (Day 146) Notification that our interview has been successfully rescheduled

11/25/2013 (Day 239) New Interview date: 16th of December 2013

12/16/2013 (Day 260) INTERVIEW! - Approved on the spot, will have green card within a few months

So if we get our EAD before the green card and apply for SSN, do we have to update the SSN again once we have the green card?

I'm starting to look for jobs now, but afraid that it might be harder since I don't have a US degree or any experience (which seems to be the case, reading around the finding work in the US forum).

Yea I think you'll have to go to the ss office again cause it'll say "for work only" or something,

I'm not gonna get my ssn until I get my greencard. Interview is in 4 weeks from now. I can wait :)

Hello,

Plsssssssssssssssssssss,Can anybody let me know what is going on pertaining to late response from the USCIS. I sent in my package via UPS express on last week friday to Chicago lockbox,delivered on monday 04/29/2013 at the mail room and signed by Yearsgain.But i never received ANY Email or text for confirmation of receiving the package.

Pls am eager for the response,plsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

i submitted the same day as u and i have received email but i didnt get any text. i received email on 3rd may. 2013

Got an email saying that the EAD is in card production and the AP is approved as well. Yay!
