Hey guys, I'm kinda discouraged. :( everyday I've been checking the receipt numbers after me to see if they have gotten their interview appointments and every single one has an interview except mine as of 04/30/13. It just worries me that they skipped us for some reason since everyone before and after us has one! I know it hasn't been that long since filing but it just bothers me that I'm the only one... It's been a month since my status changed to "testing and interview." Just praying that everything is ok... If only I could find out whether receipt numbers are assigned by receive date AND field office location... If they are assigning receipt numbers according to location then I'm worried... But if not then I'm ok with waiting however long it takes because I know the reason is that NY is "terribly" backed up according to USCIS Customer Service!

Ugh trying to keep busy and forget about all this !

Hello Liz,

I think this is where the variability of our local offices' loads kicks in. I was prepared for a long wait, because a member named Mabouby, wrote about his long wait time between his biometrics appointment and news about an interview date. I still am prepared to wait because the Denver office also services Wyoming.

If it's been a month since the testing and interview status change, perhaps it's time for a follow up?

I know you're local office is NYC, this office has a processing time of 6-7 months I think.

Once your status says "Testing and interview" just means that it got passed on from NBC to your local office, and your local office will schedule you for an interview date.

This all depends on how busy your local office is, I have seen people from NYC having to wait like 3 months for an interview date.... not trying to discourage you. But I do think because your local office is super busy, it's probably going to be a while.

I don't think they have forgotten about you!

Hang in there!

You should try going on trackitt.com and actually go here http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/i130-i485

You can track it by your local office and see peoples cases who are on the site.

That should give you an idea of the wait.

Hi, did you send in the " Form 1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance" ? If you didn't then you will have to wait until you get your Notice of Action in the mail.

Thanks Blue, I did call them today just to see what they would say.. They said NYC is backed up with appointment scheduling. So I feel better. Could it be that the other receipt numbers are from other cities? I guess so..

Thanks, Ally! Wow, cool site.. Yes, I've see other NYers out there waiting long too. Maybe I should forget about comparing case statuses. I just am super worried my hubby's previous application would effect his new one which makes me think that's why they are skipping me. Oh well, I'll just leave it in Gods hands.

Awesome site! Unfortunately, it wants the I-130 visa type. What would that be from a VWP?

For the trackitt website, your I-130 type would be IR-2 (Spouse of a US Citizen). If you scroll over the 'question mark' icon above the I-130 column, you will see all the various types.

My USCIS Journey...

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

09/09/14 - Day 523 - Status updated to Card/Document Production

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card mailed to address on record/permanent resident status registered

09/15/14 - Day 529 - Status update - Card picked up by USPS.

09/16/14 - Day 530 - GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!

I-751 Timeline:

05/25/16 - Day 000 - I-751packet mailed to CSC

05/27/16 - Day 002 - I-751 packet received at CSC

06/02/16 - Day 008 - Check cashed

06/03/16 - Day 009 - NOA1 received. Receipt Date: 05/27/16

06/10/16 - Day 016 - Biometrics appointment notice received - appointment date 6/22/16

06/22/16 - Day 028 - Biometrics Appointment - complete

01/04/17 - Day 224 - Status update - ROC Approved!  Card production ordered.

01/09/17 - Day 229 - Status update - Approval notice letter received.  Also received a notification that the card has been mailed.

01/11/17 - Day 231 - Card received in the mail!

Thank you!!

Not a problem though I apologize! I made a typo there. The type should be IR-1 not 2. Cheers!
