Card production ordered without biometrics

Dear Vj,

I applied for AOS on 17 Jan 2013, on 30 Jan 13 i received RFE to send passport copy of co sponsor..On 25 Feb 13 i sent the Document requested by USCIS. I was expecting them to send me NOA 1 with Biometric appointment but instead i received this email. What does it mean?

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On February 27, 2013 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Seems a little out of sequence....

Did you apply for EAD/AP at the same time as you filed for AOS?

I agree this is really weird. It seems like the I-485 is approved and the green card is in production, but with no biometrics done, I don't understand. Plus no interview? AOS with interview are usually processed fast, but without, it generally takes a lot longer than 1.5 month for K-1.

Is it really your I-485 case number?
