Police Certificate help needed

My fiancee's daughter is 19 and has lived in Canada since she was 13. She was born in South Africa and lived there until moving to Canada. Will she need a police certificate for Canada only?

Are you the USC, and your fiance the alien (and he has only lived in his country)? If so, he needs a police cert. from his country, (but not until after NOA2).

No need to be rude, Steven. We're all here to help eachother. Police certificates are only required of applicants aged 16 or older. (South Africa won't be relevant as she was under 16 when she emigrated).

All 16+ applicants need the relevant police certificates, yes. As far as I know, the only exempt country you don't need one for is the USA itself. Any other country you've lived in for more than 6 months, you will need one.

More than 12 months actually. Not 6. (It could be different depending on the embassies the foreign fiancé goes through. I am sure that for the UK it is "more than a year" for France it is "at least 12 months". I have read on a thread that for canada it was "more than 6 months", but that was from a membe who hadn't recieved packet 3 yet, and didn't make it clear where the info was from. Another (way more advance member) from canada said it was 12 months. I tend to believe it should be 12 months in all embassies)

Usually embassies will accept any police certificate that is less than a year old, even if the police certificate itself is supposed to be good for less than that. However, there are exeptions. The only one I know about is US embassy in France that requires a police certificate less than 3 months old even though the PC is valid for a year.

I asked mine after NOA2, just because it is pretty quick to get a french PC for a french citizen. But if you know it is gonna take smthg like 2 months to get a PC, I guess it would be good to ask for it after 5 or 6 months even if you don't have NOA2 yet.
