Hello All,

I am a US citizen who is moving to the UK to marry my fiance. Does anybody know how long it takes to get the Fiance visa to enter UK?

I have read that I send in my form to the British office in the US and it should be quick, but does anybody have experience with what kind of timeframe I'm looking at?

Also does anybody know if I can mail it or I have to show up in person?

Thank YOU!

Your time to get past the foreplay event (the USCIS petition process) is not any quicker.... If you apply for a "K" type visa it is a mail only event to one of the USCIS service centers. I am not aware of a "British" office in the US.

Check this forum out. From what I've read, it can take as little as 2 weeks, though I'd plan some buffer room in my travel plans. Maybe 4-6 weeks.

One thing, it'll ask when you plan to travel to the UK, and then they'll issue the visa based on that date.

SSBH22 is talking about the US citizen moving to the UK, not the other way around. ;)
