Surgeon Appointment

Hello and thanks for your replies!

While getting ready to start the AOS process, we were wondering if it would be ok to schedule the surgeon appointment to be before our wedding. We want to mail the AOS package as soon as we receive the Wedding certificate back. In my town, it only takes 2-3 days for pick-up. Thanks!

am a little confuse. I thought when your fiance did his medical in Haiti it is good for one year, and if you start the AOS before the one year deadline he will not need more medical. Please let me know if this is true or not. Thanks

As long as the shots are complete, no, you don't need to see a CS.

Since in Haiti vaccines are not required for k1, the doctor we saw in Haiti refused to give him the shots that he was missing from his vaccination records. He got them today, so we will definitely need to see a civil surgeon to fill out form I-693.

So if all of the vaccination was not completed then you need to see a civil surgeon and he has to be the one to fill out form I-693? and if the vaccination was completed then form I693 will not be necessary?

In the instructions for I-693 on page 4, section 3, tab 2c, it reads:

"Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693."

On VJ, I have read that people who are unsure about their DS-3025 status, have gone to a civil surgeon with their vaccination records to get the I-693 filled out (to be on the safe side...)

Have your fiancé check here to see if he and his son have all the required shots on their records.
