Top line, after DOB and nationality, 'File Number:'

What's this? Why would I have a file number? Is this filled in by admin people? Please help let me know if anyone is aware.

Also, I'll be in the US while we file my I-130 and will leave in a few weeks, but we're filing before I'm gone. Under residency for past 5 years, should I note down my current location, since on I-130 I will be declaring when I'm leaving the US.

Lastly, under List Past Employers, has anyone else come across the problem that there's not near enough room to write employers name AND address in full without running out of space? I want my form to be perfect so things like this make me anxious to have looking messy.

Thank you in advance. :crying:

Hope this helps.

1. Are you asking about the Alien number? You don't have one, so it would be "NONE" or "N/A". I'm looking at our I-130 and it doesn't have "file number" on it next to DOB.

2. They want to know your legal residences for the last 5 years. Official residences. Not where you visited.

3. Use up the lines that are available, then continue on a blank sheet. Put "CONTINUATION" at the top of the sheet, put the question number, and continue filling out the information.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your response. Silly me, I'm looking at the G-325A. The Bio. File Number and it has an A, so I'm guessing it's the Alien number like you're saying, and I don't have one of those..

Ok I will just note all previous residences I've lived before now and it will just be nothing as of Feb this year :) Hope that won't make me seem odd.

Thanks for your info.

As far as your previous residences are concerned, blank spots aren't great. My husband traveled some before he moved home for good (for about 3 months). Instead of leaving a blank spot, he put his parents' address in Ireland, since that's where his mail was going and his stuff was. That may be an option for you, if applicable.

That's a good point, I suppose worst case they can ask about my residence being stated as the US when I'm on VWP and I can explain that I wanted to make sure I wrote all the places I had been.
