Thank you so much to all of your very sweet and kind replies. I woke up this morning with such a feeling of sadness in my heart. I'm glad I don't have to work today. I work as a veterinary assistant and I don't think I could take see any more suffering of animals today. My wonderful fiance stayed with me on the phone and online yesterday afternoon and last night and again this morning. He has been so amazing through this. I feel so fortunate to have him in my life.

I still have one little dog. Her name is Sophie and she is an Italian Greyhound as well. She is clinging very tightly to me this morning. I'm sure she misses Luigi. She will stay with my exhusband while I am gone. She is crazy about him and I know she will be in good hands. But that is the one thing that will be hard about leaving for Morocco and that is leaving Sophie especially after losing Luigi.

But it is time to try to cheer up and move on to the next chapter of my life. Thank you all again. I know this topic had nothing to do with immigration and I thank everyone who took the time to reply. I meant a lot to me.

Hi Guys. I know this is not in any way immigration related but I hope someone hear will understand. My little dog Luigi died today. He was my best friend. I am devastated. This is supposed to be a happy time. I'm getting married next month. And nothing seems to matter right now. I just feel lost right now. Sorry for being so depressing. I guess I really just need to get this out of my system and I thank you for listening.

Sorry to hear that but think of the good times you had with Luigi.

loosing a fur baby is very hard. Just remember he had the most wonderful life you can give an animal. I'm very attached to my cat, Sheba. She is a rescue pet too that my daughter adopted and when she went off to college, Sheba adopted me. Just give Sophie the extra hug for Luigi! (F)

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I went back to work today. I was hoping I would not get any sad cases today and luckily I did not. I even had a few new puppies come in and those appointments are always fun and make me smile. But I still miss my boy so much. But I smile when I remember how he changed over the years I had him. When he first came to me as an abused dog he was not affectionate at all. Not what you would call a cuddly loving pet. He wanted NOTHING to do with people. But as time went on he became the most affectionate and loving of all of my pets and he was the most loyal boy ever. My most favorite memory of him is the night we heard (I was still married at the time) a crunching noise and we went to investigate and Luigi was in the pantry and had his whole head down in a box of Fruit Loops cereal crunching away. We yelled at him and he quickly got his head out of the box and sat down and tried so hard to look innocent like "I didn't do anything". We were laughing so hard we could not be mad at him.

Today I was able to think of Luigi and smile. I feel an emptiness right now with him gone. But I think I am starting to feel a little bit of peace again. Thank you for your kind replies and your support. I really do appreciate it.
