I'm sure you all get sick of the endless amounts of questions about using the VWP to visit our loved ones. I know it all comes down to the person at the border, I know the rule of thumb and I'm aware of the burden of proof when it comes to ties to the home country. On the other hand lots of you must know how paranoid you can get after reading the horror stories posted online. We're not talking holidays here; these are the only moments we can spend with our other halves. That's why I really would appreciate it if people with experience with travelling back and forth can take a look at the schedule below, and tell me if my worries are all for nothing.

The plan is to get married (in the US, on VWP) in August, and then move back to NL together. Before then I obviously need to visit a little more often to get everything arranged. I always bring letters that I'm indeed an active student at my university, letters of both of my parttime jobs, a letter of the realtor which states that I'm still paying my rent and all the documents regarding the wedding. I seem to get less questions every time I enter, but I'm still scared to death each time.

Past:

27/08 - 02/09 2012 (6 days)

02/10 - 14/10 2012 (12 days)

13/02 - 22/02 2013 (9 days)

Planned:

Beginning of April (around 9 days)

Half of June (around 9 days)

Beginning of August (around 14 days; wedding + short honeymoon)

You've showed a consistent pattern of short visits and always returning home. Your upcoming planned visits hold true to that pattern, I don't see you having any problems entering the US in the future. When asked about the purpose of your visits, be honest. What you are doing is perfectly legal. Good luck.

the VWP is only for visit. everyone coming to the usa as a visitor has an immigrant intent grounds of inadmissibilty they have to overcome. Now when u tell the cbp officer that u r coming here to get married, u may have a harder time overcoming that ground of inadmissibilty. this may be a double-edge sword but by any means tell the truth.

Every time you enter, and the CBP scans your passport, they can see when you entered last. And before that. And before that. They can also see that each time you've entered, you've left on time. That's what the VWP is for. The US wants visitors. The US needs visitors. The CBP is not there to turn visitors away. If the CBP started turning Japanese tourists away in large numbers at Honolulu airport, I'd be unemployed right now and so would half this city. Actually, this entire state would be completely and utterly bankrupt, and the CBP at Honolulu airport wouldn't even have jobs themselves. The more visitors, the better. The US spends billions of dollars annually to attract visitors. The CBP's only job is to make sure that the people who come here 1. Are the people they say they are, and 2. Have the appropriate visa/travel document for whatever they plan to do in the US. They don't care how often you enter. They care that you don't work illegally, that you're not dangerous and they care that you don't overstay.

From a logical viewpoint:

No Dutch person comes to the US to work illegally for 6, 12 or 9 days and then leave. Likewise, you haven't overstayed before, why suspect you of overstaying this time? Take a deep breath, you're fine.
