What does PCC consist of?

Hello Indian VJ members,

I hope someone can help clarify my question. I understand that one part of PCC will be a stamp in the document and also a certificate from Passport office stating no offense were found. However, do we need to get another police clearance certificate from nearby police station? My husband did this process 4 years ago and he had to get PCC both from PSK office and police station. But, for my mother-in-law, PSK did not request PCC from police station. My guess is because her address on passport is same as her present residence address and also the passport was issued 6 months ago. But my concern is, NVC or Embassy may ask for two PCCs, one from PSK and one from nearby police station.

Anyone with recent experience, can you please share your experience. Thanks for help!!!!

03/12/2013 - Petitioners' email corrected, Beneficiary's email added

03/13/2013 - AOS fee invoiced and Paid (shows In Progress)
03/14/2013 - AOS fee shows PAID
03/14/2013 - AOS package sent (overnight next-day delivery)
03/15/2013 - AOS package delivered to NVC on 03/15/2013 at 10:06:00
03/19/2013 - Re-sent DS-3032 email with Supervisor Review on subject
03/21/2013 - DS-3032 accepted
03/22/2013 - IV fee invoiced and paid
03/25/2013 - IV fee shows PAID
03/25/2013 - IV package sent (overnight next-day delivery)
03/26/2013 - IV package delivered to NVC on 03/26/2013 at 10:04am

You only require PCC from PSK. Only One Passport PCC from PSK is required.

Passport address doesnt matter. My passport was issued in UP state and had UP address, but I got my PCC from Chennai PSK as I was living there for 2yrs.

That is normal... you will get 2 copies of it...

That is correct, we were told that in case you lost one... you don't have to come back to office.

You need to give one original PCC to NVC at the time of interview. (please make photocopies, a number of them for PCC)

We have notarized the PCC that was submitted to VFS, but was told to give the photocopy not notarized copy, Lucky, we have one last copy and submitted it.
