Medical Form Question

I've been looking ahead at the contents of Packets 3 & 4 (bit over-enthusiastic as we only got NOA1 the other day, but I like to plan ahead!) on the gallery on here, and have a question...

One of the questions on the medical form is 'have you ever had diabetes mellitus or other endocrine disorder?' I don't have diabetes but do have a thyroid condition, which would mean ticking 'yes' for that question... now, I know that (and diabetes) are hardly unusual and they're not going to reject my visa on those grounds (well, they'd better not!), but... what *does* happen when you tick 'yes'? Do they just ask you about it at the medical, or what? Are they going to want my medical records or something before the doctor will give me the all-clear from my medical?

Just want to know what I can expect and if this is something that might hold things up! Any info much appreciated!

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

When they do the medical, its just to make sure you dont have a deadly infectious disease, this is from USICS website.

(1) Section 212(a)(1)(A)(i) of the Act . This ground of inadmissibility covers individuals who are found to have a communicable disease of public health significance, including, “. . . infection with the etiologic agent for acquired immune deficiency syndrome.” The HHS regulations that define a communicable disease of public health significance are found at 42 CFR § 34.2(B). The following eight conditions are listed: chancroid; gonorrhea; granuloma inguinale; acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS); Hansen’s disease (infectious leprosy); lymphogranuloma venereum; infectious state syphilis; and infectious tuberculosis (TB). Note that, for TB, only Class A TB renders the applicant inadmissible under section 212(a)(1)(A)(i) of the Act. Under current CDC guidelines, Class A TB means tuberculosis that is clinically active and infectious (communicable).

Ah, so... so long as I don't have leprosy or similar, it's not something that's going to lead to delays or a load more hoops to jump through, then? Hadn't even occurred to me 'til now, but then I looked at that form and wondered...

Thank you. :)
