How to avoid rape!

A woman urinating herself or throwing up on herself and her attacker is taking the control and dominance away from the attacker, not to mention a great diversion.

I feel quite certain when a woman is being raped the thought of "okay I have to vomit and/or piss on this man" is the first thing going through her mind? I don't know about you, but I've never been able to vomit on command and I doubt your attacker would give you a 10 second "timeout" to stick your finger down your throat? Also if you have urinated in the last few minutes prior to being attacked, urinating again on your attacker will be a physical impossibility with an empty bladder I would think?

In the context of this thread, however, we are discussing out in public where a person is being physically assaulted. I think we as a society have this down.

In the home, or under the influence defense tactics become limited.

The context of this thread is broader than that, as rape is a broad spectrum of things. If you want to focus on violent physical assaults then let's do that.

We know it's wrong, you say. OK, we do. But why is the sentence of a rapist so short? The average rapist is sentenced to 117 months, but only serves 56% of that time (65 months) (source: http://ojp.usdoj.gov/ovc/ncvrw/1996/m-rape.htm). These horrifically violent acts average only 6 years in prison. That's not representative of a society where rape is viewed to be as horrific and traumatizing as it is.

Again, I refer to the victim-blaming of "she was asking for it" given something that she was wearing. No matter how a woman is dressed - even if she is naked - that is not an invitation to her body. Many rape defenses shame the victim for how she looked or what she was wearing, which lessens the time the rapist is sentenced to (if he's not acquitted). That is not representative of a society that views a rape as objectively wrong.

not with a gun. arming college students is not going to curtail rape. but i guarantee suicides and "accidental" shootings will skyrocket.

What evidence do you have to guarantee this? Please post! In the meantime, I guess my rather long post was too much for some, but if you take a couple minutes to read this link, it is actually a lot of evidence to dispute what you just said.

I think it's very degrading and insulting to all women to offer such ridiculousness as a suggestion for how to prevent a man from raping you, and yes, I would absolutely pay money to see these people who give this advice have to be the guinea pigs for making sure it really does work before offering it as a solution and an alternative to a carrying a Glock 27 Gen4 .40 caliber loaded with nine 180gr hollow point Hydra Shok bullets, which will fire on command of your finger regardless if you have enough urine in your bladder to actually urinate or have time to stick your finger down your throat and vomit.

Okay? but where is your evidence to support the guarantees you made? Binge drinking and suicide rates among college freshman have nothing to with that? How many of those were legally able to carry a gun? How many used guns?

To start with you have to be 21 to take the class and obtain a concealed carry permit in all but 2 states of the 40 that allow concealed carry. I attended college for 4 years and never attempted or thought of suicide nor did I "binge drink". Also, I ask you to try reading about acts of gun violence, including suicide, drunk or sober, committed by persons holding a concealed carry permit.

obviously, there aren't any studies on the effectiveness of ccw permits preventing rape on campus. there are studies about the prevalence of suicide and binge drinking in college students. so my guarantee is a projection - what i know to be true currently and projecting that upon the hypothetical of a surge in the amount of guns on campus.

There are already several college campuses which DO allow concealed carry right now. There are studies done that are cited in the article I posted earlier that absolutely contradicts what you "know to be true currently" and what you're projecting in your hypothesis.
