How to avoid rape!

So you're "quite certain" you know what goes through a woman's mind when she is being raped and traumatized? You have either read studies on this subject or studied this yourself and come to the conclusion that the female body is incapable of producing self defense mechanisms when in a life threatening situation? I would think that any person in a life threatening, traumatizing situation, would almost freely urinate themselves and most definitely feel sick to their stomach, in fact it happens quite often. There are plenty of self defense mechanisms that humans posess, just because they don't cme in the form of a gun, doesn't mean they won't work.

A 10 second timeout would not be needed for the human body to do either of those, but it would take time and strength for a woman to hold off her attacker long enough to reach for her gun and use it. There would also be a very good chance that the gun would be taken from her and used against her.

Yes. I am certain I know what goes on in the mind of a victim during an attack. The goal of a victim during an attack is to survive it. Every situation is going to be different. People who are trained in the military know this. People with crisis/emergency training know this. Heck people who have kids know this. You have to assess the situation as its playing out and adapt to it.

There is no playbook on do exactly this and you will survive each time, because there are too many variables.

And urinating or vomiting or defecating prior to the attack or during the attack is not going to stop the attack or shift the power from the attacker to the victim.

Youre insisting that (or in your prior post- in this one youre just insisting that its physically possible to urinate or vomit) but youre insisting that a person urinating on another person is a statement of dominance and in certain cases it is. But in the above scenario its not.

Typically when a 'man' has control over somebody and p*sses on them its incredibly insulting and degrading and a statement of power and control and dominance. But thats not whats happening. In the course of the attack youre talking about the man having the woman pinned down- ie his hand around her throat, where he is in control and she urinates on him. That is not the same thing. She is not in control now. It will be viewed no different then a child wetting their pants in fear. Its not a statement of dominance by the victim, its a statement of fear. And its not going to sexually repulse the attacker because like I said, the attack is not sexually motivated, its a power driven attack. The sexual gratification is secondary.

IMO the thrill that the woman is so intimated that she wet herself is only going to feed into their power trip.

I could give the same breakdown of why vomiting would have the same effect but I find the whole topic to be disgusting and would rather not--

I am also very pro gun. I own many many firearms. Probably more then the combined posters on this thread. I believe that if the woman is properly trained the chances that the weapon would be taken from her during the attempted attack are slim.

Any woman that has a gun should know to carry it on her person and not in her purse. Men who rape are cowards and bullies. If a gun is pulled out and fired in the air, over their shoulder, or even in their general direction, they will most likely high tail it out of there.

Because if theres a potential victim and a potential rapist and the rapist approaches the victim and the victim pulls out a gun, the tables are now turned. They have power thanks to their gun. They must be trained to use it or they will lose it. Thats why I wouldnt recommend any one to just run out and purchase firearms and concealed carry permits because it can be used against you if you dont know what you are doing. But if you do, its an incredibly valuable life saving resource.

(For women who are anti gun- they should invest in a taser gun. Its similar to a stun gun except they shoot out 2 electrodes that can fly about 15 feet, its got a laser on it so you know where its going and once you shoot it, it can be used as a stun gun once you fire the electrodes, so its not useless afterwards. They are pricey at 300+ bucks, but if you use it in an attack, you send the police report to the company and they send you a replacement unit.

A taser is a very powerful non lethal personal defense weapon for women. It can take down a 300lb+ man from a distance in the dark and keep him down for a while. A good unit will come with practice dummy cartridges you can practice with. You can order them online or most reputable gun shops will have them in stock.)

I bet that got a few people here in P&R to get in their car and speed off to the gun store.

Evylin, meet Eric. Eric is a VJ legend with a fascination for his #######. He is also the first and only member to get himself banned then reinstated. I'd say that makes him a pretty smart cookie. But a cookie still the same.

Based on the context (the original question of So you're "quite certain" you know what goes through a woman's mind when she is being raped and traumatized? and the reply Yes. I am certain I know what goes on in the mind of a victim during an attack.) the only reason to ask a follow up question of What qualifies you to make this statement? is if youre seeking to publicly embarrass the respondent by having them admit to being a victim and I can assure you, you will do no such thing.

I can proudly say that I am a victim and a survivor and I now advocate heavily for victims rights.

There is an abundance of rape and violence against women in this country and its not treated as crisis, or even a pattern. It doesnt have a race, a class, a religion, or a nationality, but it does have a gender.

A woman is raped in the US every 6.2 minutes (thats whats reported. A significant amount is unreported, so the actual amount is closer to one rape every minute in the US)

1 in 5 women will be raped in her lifetime.

A woman's chance of being raped in college: 1 in 4

Chances that a woman in the U.S. is raped versus the chances she gets breast cancer: 2 to 1

Percentage of victims of rape who report the use of a weapon: 11 percent (3% used a gun, 6% used a knife, and 2 % used another form of weapon.)

84% of victims reported the use of physical force only

So again, I maintain, the odds are the potential attacker will be unarmed. If the intended victim has a weapon (a gun, a taser etc) they have control. A wannabe rapist has a sense of entitlement to inflict suffering (or even death) on other people. It breeds misery in the perpetrator and the victims. They feel their chosen victim has no rights and liberties, while he had the right to control and punish her. Even if you are 'obedient' and comply with the rapist 'demands' they will not stop until they are 'done' because the desire to control comes out of a rage that obedience can’t assuage.

The only way to stop a rape is to regain control. Unless the woman is physically strong enough to overpower the attacker she needs a weapon.

(and for bigdog- Men are raped as well. 1 in 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape. Chances an incarcerated person is raped in the U.S.: 1 in 10)
