First call or email the NVC with USCIS case number, name and DOB of the beneficiary, to check if they sent the case on to the consulate, and get the DOS case number it is different than the one from USCIS. The automated system at NVC wont have your case info, you will need to email or talk to an operator.

An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received.

Once you know the DOS case number and know if it was sent to the Embassy, then email them about it, the embassy with your DOS case number and beneficiary's name and DOB.

Thanks im on it
Cool! And thanks for filling out a timeline and your profile info! With out the extra info like you indicating your beneficiary is in Korea, in your profile, I would have not been able to be as specific with my answer as I was here.

I wish more newbie's would take the time to fill out those simple things, it just makes answering questions just that much easier.
