I finally got a I-797C notice for an interview on April 1st, and It says "Request for applicant to appear for initial interview".

My question is about the word "initial ". Is this the interview that every filer dreams of receiving because it's the last step of the journey or is this just a pre-screening interview? I have this question because back in January I got an email notification that they sent me an RFE letter on 1/24. I never received the letter and therefore haven't responded. I called the service center and they said they would put in a request to resend the letter. I talked to a Tier 2 agent, but was told they never sent me an RFE in the first place. I was just waiting to see if there would be an RFE coming, but then I got this initial interview notice instead. I'm very confused.

Did anyone who had an interview receive the notice that had the words "initial interview"?
