Hi evryone! i'm new to these forums and hopefully i can find some help! I'm planning to marry my boyfriend in Mexico within the next few months, i'm currently a LPR, and well i know the process can take a couple of years, you guys know if there's a possibility that you could apply for tourist visa so that he could visit me here in the states. And if having a I-130 already filed would give him some sort of advantage in getting this visa. Also one more thing, would we have to wait a certain amount of time before we can apply the I-130 or can we file that right away after getting married? thanks for your help!

It would depend on his country of citizenship, but it's unlikely he would be granted a tourist visa whilst simultaneously pursuing an immigrant visa. Far from being an advantage, it would be a disadvantage having an I-130 already filed.

If he can prove extremely strong ties to his home country it's possible he would be granted a tourist visa, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

once married even if the I-130 has not being filed, it becomes more challenging convincing the CO he will return after his visit. Then again he could be among the lucky few who still get it regardless.

As for when to file, you can file the NEXT day after you marriage, it does not matter
