Hey everyone and thank u soooooo much! I really needed this!

Interview is done, but they didnt give him a definite yes or a definite no!

What they did say is that they are sending his file back to the departmant of homeland security for verification of a marriage and to make sure that it wasn't arranged. I don't know if they are literally "sending it back" but my sister in law said they will find me and ask me questions about him now....

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing??????????

Our marriage was arranged, kinda..... I met him thru family, I don't feel like typing all that again, but I was honest on the form about how we met.

I can't understand it?

He applied for a student visa years ago, could that have anything to do with it? I didn't know him back then. Somebody please tell me this is normal....... :crying::crying::crying:

I am waiting 4 him to get online so we can talk more about what they said. They asked a lot of questions, of course he got that B**** Maureen, so thanx for the heads up on her a s s! That was not a problem! My stomach is twisted and in knots right now!

I guess Ill be here in a little while with an update.

Limah,

I hope you have a congressman that is familiar with your case that you can contact. If so, you should do so ASAP. The last thing you want is for Casa to send your petition back to USCIS. Even if you don't already have a congressman that you've contacted, get on the phone with one NOW!

Once they send your petition back to the U.S., that means months and months of more waiting. The USCIS will either reaffirm your petition, in which case you will need to wait for Casa to schedule a second interview (like Morocco4Ever, whose second interview was last week). Or USCIS can agree with Casa's assessment and deny your petition.

Please act fast.

Also,

You should find out from your husband if he was given the 221g paper and what exactly it says. From what you've described, it probably says that they are returning the petition to DHS due to a question about the validity of the relationship.

ETA: Just so we can all be clear that the situation is what we think...

Limah, my best wishes go out to you that this is nothing major and it can be resolved quickly. Don't wait too long to take action. Many here have gone thru returned petitions (if that's what this is) and can help you take the right actions. Stay strong and get back to us w/ more detail when you can. Hugs...

Limah,

You may want to check out some of the threads that Kiya started regarding returned petitions. There's a lot of info and idea brainstorming in there, it just needs to be sorted through.

Limah, I hope everything gets better soon. Hopefully they will see that there's more to your love than an "arranged" marriage. You should tell them that it was arranged by God, not your family. Shoot! How many people meet because of friends or family? I met my husband because of friends who I consider my family. I think it's stupid that they think that just because you meet through family, it's automatically an arranged marriage! Oh #######! I'm just a little ticked off about this. Sorry.

I hope everything goes smooth and quick. Good luck Limah.

Thank you all, I have already contacted the senators office. He has to fax me the 221 g and then I have to fax it to their office in Indiana. She told me they can contact the embassy in Morocco. But I am sure you all knew that already.

I willlet you know the outcome...............

Thanx again! (F)(L)

Well done, Limah. I hope you can get the decision turned around before they return the petition. Best of luck to you!

Ohhh Limah I am very sorry to read your news.

Insha'allah your congress rep can help get the decision turned around at the consular level, and possibly a chance to present further evidence.

You have already gotten lots of very good advice here -- there are others who have lengthy experience with these matters, and they can help you figure out what course of action to take next.

Thoughts and prayers with you -- best of luck to you and your husband in getting this straightened out very soon.

Limah,

Here's a link to the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. Try to contact one of your congresspeople who is a member of this group. These guys are very important to the consulates and they get attention.

http://tancredo.house.gov/irc/members.html

Fatimah who just got her husband's visa after a 19 month wait got no results from one congressperson here in all that time despite repeated contact by that congressperson with the consulate, but when she contacted a congressperson on this list, she got instant results - her husband had his visa in about a month. The consulates know who has power in Washington, and who can change things for them. They know who the people on this list are.

Good luck!

Doesn't the Congressman have to serve your district in order to help you?

Correction to what I posted - These are representatives and don't seem to have as much pull with the consulates as the Senators. If you can contact your Senators, do that. If possible, contact both of your Senators and your Representative. Some Representatives will help you even if you aren't in their district, others won't. For some reason different ones are known at the consulates while others have no pull at all. I want to do a statistical analysis to see what the magic power string is, but the data is not available. From what I've seen though, the ones with power at the consulates are the ones with power to impact their funding in Washington.

Unfortunately the list I posted before seems to have changed since the last time I looked at it. Guess elections can do that! I hope someone on it can help you.
