denied entry to us to see American boyfriend

Last week I tried to enter the us to visit my boyfriend in the us. Since my trip was booked for three months, they started questioning me. I only had my visa with me for money. And I wasn't prepared to defend that I had enough money to support myself, I have $2000 in my bank account, I just didn't plan on using it so when I was being yelled at, I didn't think of it. They thought I was going to work there, and I had planned on volunteering cutting hair there as I do here. So I had all my tools with me

Anyways. They denied me.

I do not want to live/work in the us, just want to go for a few months while my boyfriend saves up for us to move somewhere else...

So my question is can I work around this if my partner comes here, to Canada, and we get married?

Yes, I can see why you were denied. You brought tools of a specific trade.

You are Canadian? You may try again (if it was only a denial of entry and not anything else), I was admitted 2 weeks after my denials. I would not rush into marriage if you are not yet even engaged

good luck

PS - bring ties to Canada next time you try to cross as crossing will not be easy after a denial

The k1 visa could take up to a year to get approved... We want to leave the states in six months anyways.

We wanted to get married anyways :)

We were gonna wait and do it there, but it didn't work it that way. We just want to know if afterwards we can plan on going back to the us together.

Yes I am Canadian

After a denial there is no guarentee that you will be permitted entrance into the US, especially after a suspicion of work.

And especially after marriage to a USC.

Try and cross again, with stronger ties to Canada and see what happens

good luck
