Hello,

My name is Tammara and my Fiance's name is Ali.I am a United States Citizen and my fiance is from Zanzibar, Tanzania. We are Muslim, so we agreed to be Islamically engaged. I will be traveling to Zanzibar June 1st to meet him. We Skype daily and I can tell he really loves me. He is my cousins husband's cousin (lol)

I have no idea what to do or where to start on this Visa Journey. I already bought my ticket and I just found out Direct Consular Filing is no longer an option. So what should I do? What documents should I bring with me when I go to Zanzibar for him to fill out?(if any)

For a struggling college student like myself what Visa option is cheaper, or faster. Please help!

Thank you so much

XoXo

Congrats and welcome. You'll most likely want to go the K-1 Visa route:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Read this over and check out all K-1 related info on this site.

If you decide to get married in Zanzibar you can then file for a IR-1 / CR-1 Visa for a Foreign Spouse

http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1.

This one ends up being a little cheaper than the K-1 and takes a little longer. Also, you'd have to be married first.

For both, expect to be in different countries for 10 months to a year after submitting.
