On February 7, I sent in documentation to withdraw the affidavit of support tied to my husbands AOS. I was told I would receive a letter confirming the withdrawal. As of today, I have not received any letter nor do I see a change noted on-line. Does anyone know how long it would take to receive confirmation? Is this the typical 30 day response? I plan to schedule another InforPass meeting in March, but wanted your take if anyone had experience this action. Thank you.

I'm glad you posted this. I just sent you an IM about it. Who did you send the info to and what did you have to send? I also need to withdraw AOS.

If your spouse arrived on an CR1/IR1 and has a green card in hand you can NOT withdraw the affidavit of support.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Because the adjustment of status is technically the immigrants case you may not ever recieve a notice. The immigrant will be sent a notice that the I864 is no longer in effect and that the case is subject to denial. If you also sent in information about fraud they will have to address that also.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

jcricket - it depends on where you sent it to, really. (for how long to get a response)

if you sent it into the address that was in the I-797c receipt notice, you might want to send it in again to the local field office.

Ultimately, handing it over to a shift supervisor on an infopass appointment is supposed to work,

but

I'm a fan of simply walking in without an appointment, and barging through, stating 'emergency withdrawal of I-864' at the desk. They'll let you in, and you can handle yer business there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I went for an infopass appointment Feb 6. The IO was typing in the system, gave me a sheet of paper and said "this is where you mail the letter"; "its not official until I put it in writing". I mailed it to the addresss, but the case status still shows "acceptance". And nothing has been sent indicating such documentation received. I have another appointment next week. I guess I will write another letter and have it ready when I meet with them. Thanks again!
