Danita and i ran into a little confusion regarding her place of birth. I saw her translation paperwork and have put Ban Krai Nun as her city of birth for I-129f. Now she is telling me that this is just a village and is not important, her city is Roi Et

( for place of birth on her pass port..... Roi Et/ Thailand)

I have included a pic of a section of her Birth certificate and the translation.

We are expecting pk3 in 2-3 weeks

any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Sounds like a communication problem between you and your fiance. So let me break down that photo for you:

Mooban: Ban Krai Nun

Tambon: Pakwaen

Amphur/Amphoe: Chang Han

Changwat: Roi Et

On a U.S. level it kinda breaks down like this: Changwat = State, Amphur= County, Tambon=city, Mooban=village. Mooban would be kinda like Chelsea in Manhattan or Ozone Park in Queens.

So either Chang Han or Pakwaen would be her city of birth.

It's really all irrelevant anyway. The embassy will more than likely just look at the Thai version.

Yeah your over thinking it. When it asks for city put Pakwaen. My wife's Thai passport says Si Saket, which is the Changwat/State. Also, I think all provinces have a city (muang) named after the province like New York, New York.

I always used Jungwat as a city on any paperwork for my wife and myself. I used her city as Kanthalarom, and I used mine as Udon Thani, even though we lived in Mooban. The Thai interpreter would rather prefer Jungwat anyway, it's much easier; and they know exactly where it is. I never had any issues.
