Hi everyone, I have a concern and would appreciate any input you may have.

I am in the UK and am in the final stages of my K1 visa process with my US fiancée. I sent all requested forms and my DS2001 to the embassy in London back in November, I had my medical in December and the results were sent to Embassy in early January. Last Tuesday was 6 weeks with no communication so I called the hotline and got an email authorisation and emailed my concerns but still I hear nothing. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for your insight

Moved from K-1 process to UK regional as this is a question about an issue with the embassy in UK and you may get more specific answers here.

In your case it does seem to take a bit longer than usual. I submitted all my forms on 12/12/12 and recently had my interview last week Wednesday. I also felt that it took too long, so I called the US Embassy (£1.25 per minute) on a Friday. I was told that i would receive a letter in three weeks but in fact an appointment offer was delivered the next Thursday. Perhaps my call prompted them to send the interview letter because the clock was ticking away. You can make phone enquiries up to 9pm.

It's longer than normal. Sometimes it does take a week or so to get an answer to email. Maybe they are trying to find your file. I suggest you or your fiancé call the Dept of State in the US and ask if your forms are logged in as well as the medical results. Sometime people have to send their forms again because they have no record of them.

DOS 202-663-1225 press 1, then 0 (there is no per minute charge and they can see what London has in the computer for your case)

Thanks Nick. Just found out that my forms sent in November apparently were never received, so I have sent them again this morning but now am afraid that our petition will be classed as out of date as the 4 months validity started on 8th October 2012 and therefore ran out 8 Feb. It will be extremely frustrating if this is the case because this is not my error and may set us back to the I-129f application stage again ( square 1 so to speak ) . Very concerning really but thank you for your advice Sir.

All you need to re-validate your case is a new signed letter of intent from the USC to take to the interview. Get your fiancé to write one just like the one in the petition but addressed to the US Embassy London and the current date. It needs to be mailed to you with her original signature (no scan or email.). Your letter of instruction from the embassy tells you that in the second paragraph. Read it again.
