Dear All,

I went to India for my wife interview on Feb 06 2013. Interview went very well they asked all standard questions like when did you meet him, date of marriage where does he live ... finally gave 221(g) because my divorce decree has no sign on the second page. I know that because they are e-filed documents I forgot to mention the same to my wife, we never had an issue with I-130 process. Then I applied for a certified copy from the court and submitted again via VFS and waiting for the result. How long it will take to take action on my file? any pre cautions at the port of entry? I came back today and she will come by her self thats very disappointing but can't help. Please advice or any suggestion please do let me know

Thank You,

Mxjoh29

Hopefully you will get your visa soon. I have read through through forums where people with similar situations-221 g call DOS to check their status. You might try doing that.

I did not understand something from your post. It appears you are the petitioner and divorced. The applicant is your spouse in India. Why does a petitioner has to submit his divorce documents at Consulate. The list of docs. listed for interview asks for such documents from applicants (your spouse in this case) only.

We have to submit both side divorce decrees and new marriage certificate. They are verifying already submitted docus for I-130 process and new police certificate.

I have a question, according to the new rule we have to pay $165 (dont remember exact number) after IV approval. How to pay for my case, 221 (g)? Are they going to inform us?

You can pay this fee only after your visa is approved and before your wife travels to the states.

This fee can be paid after visa approval but either before or reaching US. If you delay paying, getting physical GC is delayed. No big deal.
