Travel after greencard.

I have a question. After my wife finishes her biometrics next month and she gets her two year greencard can she travel freely with that greencard and her id? Does she have to wait till the removal of restrictions? We didn't apply for the travel permit because I was thinking that was needed just during the waiting period till she recieved her card.

She can travel, but she must remain resident in the USA, so should spend more time inside than outside the ASA. Also, almost all countries allow travel by citizenship, so if a Philipines citizen needs a visa to enter a country, she will still need one.

So if we wanted to go to Australia she would need a travel permit from the US? I know the AU has an electronic visa for everyone that comes, but based on her status as just a resident here with a greencard, she would have to enter using her Philippines passport?

The GC is only to reenter the US.

She travels internationally on her PI passport. Anything that you get as a US Citizen does not apply to her, because she is not a US citizen. If a PI citizen needs a tourist visa to visit Australia, then she needs a visa to go to Australia. The GC will let her back in to the US, that's all.

She would not need a travel permit from the USA, she'd need a visa from Australia, based on her Philippines passport. US passport/ instant visa rules will only apply to her once she naturalises in 3+ years and is a US citizen.
