Hi All,

We are finishing up our packet 3, I just have a quick question about the form 230. Am I correct in understanding that we only include part 1 with our packet 3 and not part 2. I think that is what it says, it just seems a bit odd to me.

Thanks everyone.

Just part 1, yes. Part 2 is for spouse (read the heading, it states it is for spouses) this is why you don't need it.

Follow the instruction. If it ask you 2xform 156 and just one of the rest, then do this. What they ask exactly depends of the embassy (I had to send back the readiness thing and only one form. I had to bring all the rest to the embassy).

Best!

Good luck in your visa journey!

Where does it state on the DS 230 Part 2 that it is for Spouses only? Part 2 is the "Sworn Statement" and "together with DS - 230 Part 1, constitutes the complete application for immigrant visa and alien registration".

I completed Part 2 and took it to the interview with me, I had to Complete the Application below the line (as it states) at the Consulate and sign it in front of the Consular Officer, who also signed it.

You are right... Sry about that. headbonk.gifheadbonk.gif

Anyway, I sent just part one cause it was clearly stated in my packet 3 that just part 1 was needed. They didn't make me complete or sign part 2 at any point. Yes, it really seems strange.... but I followed the instructions. OP, you can always bring part 2 at the interview if you have any doubt, but if they don't tell you in packet 3 or 4 that you need part 2, then you don't need it.

Edit: I tend to believe that if JEC777 signed it at the interview, it will be the same for the OP. After NOA2, things can differ a bit from a country to another...

No problems, thanks everyone for clearing that up for me.
